A dear friend was driving to the NT with her son. I paid him 20 bucks to say are we there yet every hour or so during the few days travel. That bloody woman went about 100kms, stopped, looked at him and said ..Di has paid you, hasn't she. He said yep so she paid him 30 to stop. (he was saving for a pushbike, lol) She said it was worth every cent lol.

    Hi Leo01

That rule only applies in NSW - hasn't gone national yet. I expect it will but hasn't yet.

The Australian road rules only refer to "unrestrained in the back of a ute" - so that's all we have in SA. Oh and no dog/animal allowed in the Driver's lap - well Duh. (though I used to ride home on my Dad's lap when I was little and he worked in Hospital Emergency, then again no car child seats or rear seatbelts existed back then - oh my age is showing).

There's another one about leading an animal from a vehicle - also no go (so no cycling with your dog or horse attached when the traffic police are looking).

Try giving him a kong stuffed with peanut butter or cream cheese on the car trips, that will distract him and hopefully help him relax. You will probably need to give him some kind of reward/ditraction every time he gets in the car for the next few weeks. Then he will learn that it is a good place to be. Also, make sure the he has an empty bladder before the trip. Puppies can have some nervous diahorrea also. I'm sure it will pass. And definitely don't let him get into bad habits.

    Good luck

hey guys just thort i would let u all know what has happened. Teddy has had a 2 metre fall and he is now in a brisbane animal hospital awaiting a operation on his left elbow. it is fractured and has bone fragment floating around in his elbow. We thought for a while that we were going to loose him as the vet bill is between $2500 and $3500. we stilld ont know if we have enough but we will try anything for our Teddy.

    How did that fall happen?

Ruby...my staffy pup fractured her knee about 5 weeks ago and had to have pins inserted to stabilise joint.

    Thinking of little Teddy!!!
