I have just been outside with her the last 20mts or so. As said before I have a whelping, maybe transfer there later box out there and an if she has them inside area set up. She can choose where she wishes to whelp whether inside or out.

The last few days have been getting her used to going in and out, with treats. She has had no real inclination to lie in there. Today I decided she needed to get used to it a bit more, so, bribed with bits of meat, in she went and Di sits on a chair at entrance with a book, blocking it. As the roof is half open length ways she was happy enough having me there and settled on the bed while I read aloud to her in case she was a bit agitated. Along comes her favourite cat, in it goes, the two are in there together. I move chair away and come indoors. They are both still in there, lol. No doubt Pretty will hunt him out when she wants to. No doubt I will be looking after the bedding.

When you said a cat in with Pretty it brought back some lovely memories of my terrier mix Tuppence sitting in with Lama the cat and her kittens. She was the best auntie any kitten could have wished for.

No, egg shells aren't enough. She needs something like Calcium Sandoz (liquid) or you can get tablets suitable for dogs. Ring and ask your Vet about brands available and daily dose rates !

This was the cat that Pretty was introduced to last of all and attacked when he was on a chair on the front veranda as before Stinky was desexed I could never guarantee finding him the night before scheduled surgery as he roamed the farm and was not here when she was.

I think I wrote in dog stories about Tara, my rehomed GSD who would pick a kitten out of a litter, cart it around and co mother it with full compliance from it's mother. Freaked me out first time I saw one with it's eyes just open in her jaws. Wow, that was 25 years ago.
