Wink What a difference a day makes!!!!!

Ok nothing short of a miracle just happened. Soon after my sad post yesterday i went back to Dogs on Line to look through the puppy listings for inter state. I rang up a couple of ads that had only been there for a couple of days but all the babies were already gone. Then while I was refreshing the page a brand new ad popped up. Litter of 6, 4 boys, 2 girls only the girls left in victoria.

I dashed off a very hasty email outlining my life's story, dedication to getting a British Bulldog and the lifestyle I could offer the puppy. I got an immediate answer, I was the second email of 15 that she'd received in the first 10 mins! There was now only one girl remaining and to my delight she was exactly the colouring I wanted. Had a great facebook chat with the breeder, got a really good vibe off her, definitely not a BYB could see from her facebook page how much she loved her dogs and she's been breeding dogs for 27 years. She wants to keep in touch to see the progress of the dog and I have already added her and her friend (another breeder) in SA to my facebook page so she can have extended family.

I went on gut feeling and said yes! So it is with great pleasure that I introduce Pippin, currently 5 weeks old (I don't get here til 8 weeks of course).

Yay!!! How exciting and how very adorable is she?!

I know more knowledgeable people on here usually recommend 10 weeks for separating puppies from their mum. You may want to discuss this with the breeder too?

    Thanks Beloz,

All the breeders I've spoken to over the last 12 months have said 8 weeks. After that they tend to start to fight a bit with their siblings and want their own space, I've watched youtubes vids of this happening and they can really start to get a bit rough with each other. I think 8 weeks will be fine, she'll be microchipped and be up to date with her vaccinations and I read somewhere that a lot of their socialising skills develop between 6 - 8 weeks. The puppy calendar on here states the crutial time to be with mum and siblings is between 3 - 8 weeks and then from 6 - 12 weeks they get good at socialising with humans.

Others on the site might have different info but all the people i've talked to have said 8 weeks is ok.

Pups can go to their new homes - not before 8 weeks of age.

    Sooooo STOKED FOR YOU !!!!

Welcome to the world of slobber, snooring and skin rolls ....relax its all good stuff LOL.

I recently commented on a Bullmastiff facebook page that i consider BM's to be the laziest of all the breeds but a few people who also owned Bulldogs as well as BM's reckon the Bulldogs are even lazier !!!! At least with a bit of effort you'll be able to roll Pippin to the other side of your bed Ha ha...

Cool name BTW ... what made you chose Pippin ?

Congrats mate...bomb us with lotsa pics please !!!

Thanks guys, she's a little stunner. I decided on the name Pippin because I'm a Lord of the Rings fan and I think bulldogs are just like little hobbits, they love their food, don't like doing too much exercise, get into mischief without really meaning to but you can't help loving them because they make you laugh so much. Just like Merry and Pippin from LOTR. Once I get the second one he will be called Merry and then the two of them can raise hell together

Here's some more pictures of my beautiful baby -
