I know that feeling. It's not nice at all and i really struggle with returning to normal life after a special holiday. I remember after both trips to Bali racking my brain as to how i could go about living there permanently. Kicking back every arvo watching the sunset over Kuta Beach drinking Bali Hai beer or a nice Bannana Juice (yum!!) , eating Nasi Goreng and surfing everyday for the rest of my life surrounded by some of the friendliest people on earth. ##SIGH## . The first 2 to 3 weeks back just sux big ones.

I read this guys blog who lives pretty good on a grand total of $8,000 a year in Bali. He works a couple months a year in Aus as a fire watcher on mine sites, boring as, but just heads back to Bali with a pocket full of cash which goes a long way.

Hey Beau, long time no hear mate, hows things

Thats what i love about the place the most. If really keen you can sleep in your board bag on the cliffs at Uluwatu and eat ham and cheese toasted sandwiches and just surf, surf, surf. I cant describe the passion i have for Bali.....funnily enough i hated the first day there. I said to my old girl "where the f### have you bought me....a smelly 3rd world shit hole !!". Her answer was perfect...."your stuck here for 2 weeks, pull your head in and learn to love it !!". So thats what i did and she was so right !!
I dont think there's anywhere in the world where i've realised with only 2 days to go that i had so much money left that i gave up on Batering and just spent like a mad man....it was awsome. I still have a Bintang shirt thats over 15 years old !!!! Must of cost me about 4 or 5 bucks !!

Here's a classic Aussie band that sums up the place perfectly...ya gotta listen to it !!

Great song Sean....makes me wanna head off over there.
I Have to admit though I have a really messed up environmental conscience. I cant visit places whos governments allow the cruel treatment of animals, just dont wanna give them my tourist dollars.

I know you will probably give me a dozen reasons why that is nonsense and my head will agree with you, but just bring myself to do it.
A freind of mine went to Vietnam a few years ago and ate dog, nearly made me throw up thinking about it.
