Lol, i couldn't believe there are people out there who think there are snakes in little old NZ. Most kiwis are shit scared of snakes! That's the first thing anybody ever mentioned when i moved here 'seen any snakes yet bro' & i sent my Nana a photo of me @ Australia Zoo holding a python & she refuses to have it out in the open. God if snakes were around people at home would just freak!

Me and OH use to love camping cause you didn't have to worry about any venomous or killer anythings hanging around! I'm too shit scared to camp or swim anywhere over here! (For the first 6 month i though there were crocs and shit down in Brisbane, turns out its too cold lol)

As somebody at work once asked me 'do you guys have tv down there?' yes - everything is very much like Australia, we have the cities which might not be as magnificent as Sydney etc but we have Auckland who has the one Louis Vuitton store. Lol - and be prepared if you were to move there to pay double the price anybody else has to pay (Tax there is through the roof) which is why the majority of us live here now

I can't wait to get to Tassie one day either, some of the pics i have seen are gorgeous. Whatever your move, i hope everything goes well for you, cause you definitely deserve some good luck by now!

I actually find tax there to be pretty similar to here to be honest. Its a few percent higher but not much.

Our family go camping in NZ every year (well not now coz we all live here) at Lake Waikaremoana, we love it. I havent been camping once in Oz...I dont want to coz im worried ill end up with a snake in my tent. Another habit I have picked up here, is looking in my shoes before I put them on especially if I have left them outside. You dont have to do that in NZ LOL.

LOL at swimming Kuri. Yea we used to go to the river and swim all the time, specially with the dogs - Im talking like 3 times a week. We havent been to a river at all here, we stopped by one once and it was full of dead jelly fish LOL.

I was watching TV an dhear da funny joke about NZ. It was an English program and one person said "whats the time in NZ" and the other person said "1958" LMAO. Obviously it's not that bad and in some ways we are quite forward thinking and a bit ahead of Oz, but I did really like the joke and have been telling it to anyone who will listen LOL

    lol OM.

We lived in Sydney first and its a bit yucky IMO, though the OH prefers it there he told me the other day. I have no idea why.

LL, good luck with your move. Its a big one, but those are the best ones. Exciting as all hell!

I went back home in March and went shopping at the Warehouse Lala & the friggin prices are through the roof! I bought an aqua mop here at Big W for $49, at the Warehouse, the exact same brand, color, model was priced at $299 - seriously how does that work! and everybody knows the warewhare (lol) is the cheapest place to buy anything, i was turned to my bro & said 'OMG, your living in poverty' lol

I do swimming lessons for this older couples grandchildren and they head to NZ all the time, she commented that she felt like she was back in time (she went to christchurch) because whenever you walk into a shop there is somebody there asking if you need their help, greeting you as you come in and leave. She said she hadn't had such superb customer service since back in the day lol and i agree your lucky if you manage to get a hello from retail staff over here!

OMG, was that warehouse in ponsonby or something LMAO. My mate is always picking up cheap stuff from furniture shops in NZ but overall, buying stuff isnt that cheap in NZ.

To be honest, I actually find Brissy really firendly. Even the kids at our local maccas drive thru look happy to be at work. I got a bit of a shock when we got here from Sydney. In Sydney, people are OT friendly and we went into the servo here and it was big smiles and how are yous, I wasn tused to it after being in Sydney for 2.5 years LOL.

I havent been back to NZ since Dec 2009 - I hate flying so Im pretty much stuck here permanently now - Lucky I like it LOL
