Seriously though, I couldn't imagine living anywhere but here, it's such a nice lazy place and the state as a whole is just so pretty.
Yes we do have snakes, but growing up we lived next to the bush and I saw maybe 4 or 5 in over 20 years.
Never seen a tick in my life.
Do you have a papermill there called amcor?
Once we sell all the pups we might just come down
To visit n check the place out.
Crested love. You go room for the 7 of us bahaaaaaaaaa

No, is there shops there cause I am a city goer
Whom likes to shop, shoes n handbags..

I am calling the real estate tomorrow n finding out prices for our house.
Our street is up for development has been for years.
We were once under contract but it feel through, we scored 20k for free.
But the 3 houses next to us fibro joints 3 bed with shed they all got
Together hoping developer would come and they were on the market for
    2.3 mill each...
We are 6 bedroom white set walls inside
    Garage / 3 bay shed / 2 toilets
Our insulated patio is 16 meters long
6 foot high covered in Chooks pens
    10 bay aviaries .
Concrete pebble pool with cave and fountain.
We have to be worth something.

Spoke to all the kids and they all say when can we go.

We even thought if we were to sell this place we would rent
A property in tas and buy an established business down there
And if all went well we'd look at buying a house then.

We are ready for a change so I say bring it on sister.

    No Tasmanian tigers either! hahaha

TBH i don't believe there are tasmanian tigers, the possibility of foxes is much more likely, although i've seen nothing to prove they have made it, just a few media reports

Are you serious Hya? Where do you get the idea NZ has snakes? If this is what you think is true, do you have any evidence?

And I am talking land based snakes, not the odd sea snake that floats past NZ while its out hunting.

There are no snakes in NZ. We have possums and wallabys even, but we don't have snakes. Well, we have em in zoos obviously but they dont just roam round suburbia or bushland. And there is defo no paralysis tick. In fact, until I moved to Australia, I had only ever heard of ticks on animal rescure programs.

As Kuri says, only yuckys to worry about are white tails (and they arent that yucky seeing as they arent actually poisonous), and red backs.

Auckland museum answering the question Natural History Questions - Auckland Museum New Zealand

OM, NZ is a fab wee country. You can go bushwalking without worry. You can jump in any waterhole anywhere worrying about what is in there (there might be an eel or two, but thats about the size of it). If you like the outdoors (especially without worrying about being eaten or bitten by something) then NZ is ya place LOL.

Its pretty similar to Oz though in alot of ways but a more laid version and quite a bit sleepier, if that makes sense. If you like a bit of entertainment and action, then Oz is the place.

Both very good countries, and we love Oz. But naturally, being a kiwi, I do have to say that NZ is the better country LOL

Opps and as this thread is about Tas, I did mean to say, I CANNOT wait to get down there for a visit.

It looks gorgeous and (again to bring it up) very similar to NZ (which might be why I think its gorge lol). I have wondered about trying Tas to live but the OH hates cold thats why we are in QLD instead of still in N

LMAO Lala, yep i have stumbled upon many myself that were fairly dangerous and like other snakes, the advise is, especially for women, is give them a wide berth. But if your cornered make sure you have a sharp shovel handy
