Oh i am also a craft freak, i like to make my own dog & cat collars, buying plain leather collars on-line or from Kmart. I add pearls, rhinestones, ribbons - all sorts and now the dogs have about 10 each! Lol. I've also sold a few to the girls down at the dog park, my personal trainer and other various people i come across. I also like to paint and decorate their bowls and i have a great book called "crafts for dogs" and a "crafts for cats" which have step by step guides for making pet bedding, toys etc. I'll decorate anything i can get my hands on - photo frames, scrap booking, cellphones etc. I had two huge plastic drawer container things full of an array of stuff that i had to leave behind when i moved from NZ. I left it at my grandmothers and when i flew back the last time i actually tried to shove as much of my craft items into my suitcase. lol I'm always down at spotlight, but found i could get the same stuff for cheaper and crazy clark, overflow and reject shops!

I know what you mean about knitting Kuri, my mum used to cast on, cast off, pick up dropped stitches and I'd do the in-between bits - knit one, purl one ...

In the last Better Homes and Gardens magazine they have a quilt with a crocheted edge, once the quilt is finished you blanket stitch around the edge then hook on to that with a few rows of crochet, it looks fantastic, but I'm really dumb when it comes to knitting/crochet.

I love the idea of making my own dog collars, might give it a try, I can't really find anything I'm happy with (for a reasonable price).

We have Textile Traders in Perth that can be a lot better value than Spotlight, and the staff are really friendly and more likely to have done some kind of craft, Spotlight shops here are huge now, bit like Bunnings, and homewares seem to be their main trade...

OOOOH crafts, love love love crafts, I'll try and make anything.

We pretty much only have spotlight here, there were some amazing little craft stores dotted through town but they all closed down when Spotlight rolled into town a few years back, such a shame

I was bit of a sewer, I made my own dog coats and other little things but recently I have been sewing full cosplay costumes.

I love scrapbooking, I'm terrible at it, but I think I just enjoy sifting through old photos and finding crafty bits that go with them.

I can knit scarves, or anything else that only involves only knitting in a straight line

I love crafting things, but I never have time to do anything any more I use to love drawing and painting and I like making invitations and things like that. Stitching too.. like long stitch, I need to learn how to cross stitch. I've never been able to get into scrap booking even though it looks fun. I don't like the idea of putting so much effort into something that will just sit closed on the shelf.

hehe, hyacinth I plucked one duck, and it's taken a good 8months or so since then.. I can't bring myself to do it by hand again, lol! It took me a good 3 hours! I had to chop the wings off 'cause I could not get the flight feathers out, even with plyers. I did a bit of googling around and found a few designs to copy. There's a bucket shaped one that you can get as a kind of DIY kit, but it's pretty expensive, and there's commercial ones but they're even more expensive. The one I'm making just hooks up to a drill, but it's not contained, so I might have fun with an explosion of feathers

findeb, I just like making things, I guess I see it kinda like a puzzle, I just use what I have and figure it out as I go. Not everything turns out well, but most of the time it's good enough for it's purpose and it's not so much about getting the best, prettiest result, I enjoy the process and sense of accomplishment. I'm not allowed to go to bunnings half the time 'cause I always end up just wandering around going 'ooo! I could use one of those to make this!' .. and my bf just rolls his eyes and asks if we can leave yet :P .. I snuck in a trip today though, I've convinced most people to give me bunnings vouchers for my birthday/christmas, so I had some to use. I got a drill to use for my plucking contraption and a couple of gardening tools. I love bunnings so much.

I wish I had more time too Jadie, or at least used my spare time wisely, not surfing the internet or on Facebook or playing "Draw Something" on my iphone ...
