    Default 40 degrees in Perth...

Oh my Dog, it's so freakin' hot ... I'm supposed to be going out with my friend to catch up for a beer, but we've just delayed it an hour ... summers like this one make me wish we had a pool

When it gets that hot here, I go to the lake or the river. It's the only place where life is bearable! And then I just sit in the shade with a beer, when I get too hot I walk into the water - often with my clothes on - and sit back down to finish my beer, until sunset. I love to be forced to spend a day like that! We haven't had one really hot day all summer here! Only went to the river once...

I haven't been to the river for so long, must get organised one day soon with picnic and cold beers and find a nice shady tree... sounds wonderful

If I thought the dog beach was bearable I'd go for a swim and hang around in the water and I know Ruby would love it, but it will be manic down there today, so sitting inside with the air-con on until I must brave the outside world ...

Bring on those windy cold winter days when it will just be the die-hards at the dog beach Never thought I'd be looking forward to winter...

Yes I know what you mean, I live in the wheatbelt and it is smoking hot out here today, has been for most of summer. Even my tough little working dogs are inside lying under the air conditioning vents. I have just put up an above ground pool and I was in there at 8.00pm last night cooling off in the moonlight, being dive bombed by little bats grabbing a drink on the wing, or picking off insects.

During the day a red hot wind howls all day off the parched land. Roll on the cooler weather and hopefully rain and green.

Oh bet you're loving the pool, bats and all ... my hubby is working on the mines in Eneabba, poor bugger, country WA has really been hit with some stinking hot and dry weather this year ...

Wishing for a nice healthy rainfall and loads of green growth for the wheatbelt this year ...

We haven't had a day over 33 degrees her...We usually have very hot days and lots of total firebans, but none this year. Just rain. I love the years without firebans

Yes Eneabba is a real hot spot. I remember driving through there a few years ago with a car load of dogs after my car airconditioning had failed on one of the hottest days. I think it was close to 44. Very unpleasant.

30 degrees all year round would be lovely, we seem to go from summer to winter in Perth, not much sign of the other two seasons ...

Newfsie I know what you mean about loving no firebans, we've had a ridiculous amount this year and last. A man used his angle grinder last year on his property in the hills on a fireban day and the sparks from it caused a scrub-fire that ended up a huge bushfire destroying many houses. Western Australia seems to be tinder dry and there have been so many destructive bushfires.

Eneabba is a place that people remember for all the wrong reasons
