I believe now though that they have a proper registry and they follow the same ethos as ANKC breeders though?

Well it depends which group you listen to as there are at least two different registers. But it will always play on my mind that these people were willing to take a dog - that no one knew for sure was a shepherd - and breed with him. I said no, how many others said yes?

I don't like differentiating within a breed - I find it silly - a shepherd is a shepherd and if it doesn't have the qualities of a shepherd it should be desexed and put in a pet home. We would have far less problems in rescue if this happened.

You have that silly woman breeding longcoats with suspect temperments - there's actually two of them...and another breeding black longcoats as a speciality. I mean it is beyond ridiculous.

My next dog will be pure bred - from a breeder who meets my ethics. If he goes on to do well and I decide to use him as a stud dog MY ethics will be paramount. I would never put that dog over an inferior bitch.

I could go get a cross bred mutt from the shelter tomorrow - and get another cross bred and keep getting them and breeding them and start a bitsa registery - would that be ethical?

A shepherd is a shepherd - if you don't like them, get a different breed.

The breed is being ruined by people trying to meet a consumer need - a soft natured guard dog - no such thing!

I want a dog that is sure of temperment
I want a dog that is strong
I want a dog that is healthy
I want a dog that is confident
I want a dog that is adaptable
I want a dog that meets the breed standard

I am not going to create a breed standard to fit my needs - if we were to do that I return to my point - those breeding purposefully for a cross bred should also be allowed to post on pure breed forums

Bring on the Labradoodles and Pugaliers! (after all pugs and cavies have many health problems and cross breeding will naturally breed vigour)

Anyone want to guess where I started to get sarcastic?

If the last comment is aimed at me (given that you made the request of me before) I can't and I won't.

Sorry, it is nothing personal but I deal with Troy on business level and it is not appropriate that I approach him in this regard.

He is a very reasonable man. All you need to do is email him. If he doesn't reinstate you then move on. It is only a forum of anonymous people afterall.
