Default The "what I do" photos...

There are quite a few "what I do" photos going around on the internets at the moment. I just seen this one and thought I would share!

Love it....I was at a family afternoon tea yesterday, and someone commented on Oskar saying something like " yeah thats a bit hard when your dog is a pit bull" He isn't a pitbull but still, the stigma is there.

Yep Lala, people cross the road when they see Oskar coming, or they turn around and head back the way they were coming. We get the odd comment too asking if he is friendly, actually all the bloody time, even if he is tied up!

My daughter's grandmother said something about pitbulls being dangerous because they are able to rip a kid's arm off or something. So we had a nice chat about prejudice and ignorance when she passed that on to me!

I've actually never noticed if people avoid me when I'm walking my dogs. Most people in my neighbourhood seem oka. The kids love them and most people smile as they go past! Lol maybe its just me being oblivious to what other people do! If they don't like my dog it's their problem not mine! Lol that's the way I deal with most things!

you know what - i have the opposite problem especially with Benji (bichon X poodle) who still looks like a puppy but he hates strangers, especially children and men. They all think because he's "cute" that he must be friendly, which he isn't and they come over to pat him without asking, sometimes without me seeing (i don't put him on the leash, he walks right beside me, or just behind me at his own pace) and i have to quickly jump in between & say "he's not friendly" and you still get the odd person who say's "it's okay", and still try and touch him the idiots!

Even when children come to the house i have to lock him away in the bedroom so they won't touch him (he's quite happy to sit on the bed, it's what he does all day) otherwise he will chase & nip them, but it is only when they enter his personal space / try to touch him, otherwise he won't bother even looking at them

Just goes to show that you definitely shouldn't judge a dog by it's look or breed!

Fantastic post jadielee, really does sum up the situation perfectly.

oh and ETA : that superman outfit is just so perfect for the staffy breeds! They seriously do forget at times they ain't superman i.e mine forgets he sucks butts at swimming but if i throw the ball too deep, well it doesn't end with him swimming back to shore by himself, put it that way.
