Getting drunk is totally overated mate...my memory is screwed because of all the drinking i did as a youngster. Having an occasional drink is fine though.

I enjoy alcohol much more since I got to the stage where I drink it like I would eat gourmet food. A beer after mowing the lawn on a hot summer day is such a treat, but a second or third one doesn't have the same effect anymore.

And I will have a glass of wine most nights to celebrate getting through another day but I stop after one. I have friends my age or a bit younger who are still binge drinking and I don't get it. It puts me off and I don't like hanging out with them much anymore. It's like they cannot enjoy themselves without copious amounts of alcohol and the party doesn't really get started until they lose control over their actions. I much prefer living in the moment these days. I think that is the most valuable thing that I have learnt with getting older.

hmm, seems like your kids are moving through the phases faster than i did! WHen i was a kid, it seemed like adults knew everything, then when i was a teenager I thought I was alway right about everything, now as an adult i realise you can't know everything about everything.

hahaha, i think adults wanted us to think they knew everything, and as a kid, I was too amazed because adults were so clever. My mum had an answer for everything. My mum used to use the answer " a wigwam and a gooses bridle" and I remember being puzzled and I would say, what does that mean mum? She would say, One day you will understand"

I get it now!!!!It means absolutely F@ck all!! LMAO
Another of my mum's fave responses I use with my own kids is "some day" and we all know thanks to Creedence, Someday never comes!

yeah, try on "a wigwam and a gooses bridle" with your kids now - they'll just google it and tell u that u dunno what you're on about

I did just google it... i means "none of your business" apparently, which we all know translates to "I am saying that b/c I can't say anything else on the matter"

I'm in the same boat, went through my "binge drinking" years 16-18. I've never been a big drinker, just never enjoyed the taste of it. Never touched drugs, even though most of my friends were into it. I was very mature for my age, still am (just turned 23) i find i relate better to the older girls than ones my age. Then again i am lucky to have found my soul mate and that has resulted in me wanting to stay home rather than go out and get stupidly drunk like the rest of them. Our 5 year anniversary this month

I agree, the first one is refreshing, then the next couple seem to taste worse lol. I do enjoy the odd bottle of moscato now and then however

All the video footage of me as a kid has me saying "i know" even my family still give me crap about it "i know, i know" they say. I still even find myself saying it to this day! i slap myself when it comes out - bad habit.

OH told me once - you can't keep your mouth shut and just go with it, you always have to claim you know everything.

So yes, i am abit of a know it all. Though i try not to be. lol
