    Default Wild life

Finally I saw a cane toad last night next to my front foor step.

Then about an hour later a baby goanna (well it could have been that tiny species but it was about 30 cms long so I suspect it was a youngun of a larger species...maybe a lace monitor?).

I videoed the goanna but I wont put that up coz I seem to be swearing quite a bit in the video (I was a bit excited lol)

We haven't had any visable cane toads so far this summer (nor green frogs, so glad) but a few nights back the OH was outside and he called me out and there was a silhouette of what appeared to be an owl sitting on the hills hoist of next door. Unfortunately it was too dark and we didnt want to risk turning the back light on in case it flew away. It was quite a big shape, so we think it may have been a mopoke....it was pretty exciting....

LOL, i have a filthy mouth too Lala!

My mum has two owls that have been outside her house every night lately! I've had a few cane toads, I just bag them and chuck them in the bin! Lol it's been a bit harder to spot them though recently with the number of different frog species we've had on our patio thanks to the rain!

Lol lizards are one oft favourites though

I don't like to, but Bella thinks they are toys so I would rather throw them in the bin - out of sight out of mind! Lol

Here is the picture she sent me! I love them too, one of my many fav animals!

I caught an XXL toad tonight, it was a fiesty one and had to chase it around a bit.
Eventually got it and into a bag in the coolroom.
Unfortunately my dog is a complete idiot and thinks they are just the best toys ever.

Feel free to throw up the video up (can mute the sound), and might be able to ID it :P

All dogs are pretty stupid when it comes to toads I think haha

I was watching a doco on toads on the tv the other day and some dogs deliberately lick them to get high apparently. They know how to lick them in just the right way to get a little bit of poision out!

    :LOL Jadie!

Yea I am sure my dogs will have a go too, but it was out the front, and they are usually not outside anyway unless someone is supervising...or Pippi is tied (and Barney hangs with her) so I am not too worried at this point.

Shadow....I want to put the video up but I am worried people WONT mute the sound...and honestly, I sound like a moron LMAO. At the end, Im like its moving....its moving towards me, Im shutting the door now LMAO
