I'm 35 minutes away ( if the roads are not flooded )

We are getting absoloutely punished at the moment ! Like a mini cyclone going through with torrential rain and easily 40+ knot wind gusts.
I'm starting to go nuts now. The upside is that i dont have to go far to go fishing when the weather is like this !

We have still been walking twice a day - sometimes a third little walk.
Walking in the rain is nice in summer as long as you have:- (drum roll)
    1. bare feet - (I reckon no snakes are mad enough to be out in this weather)
    2. boardies
    3. hooded spray jacket
The neighbours must think I am nuts but if I do not walk this dog he would drive us all around the bend.

yea its not the same...for one you are meant to have a license (well at least in NSW) though OH didnt bother the few times he went.

Anyway, in NZ, we used to live in Haumoana which is right by Cape Kidnappers and he used to go out on his motorbike up to the cape every night and catch us some fish. Our freezer was always chocka with snapper, kahawai (sp?), Lemon fish (or lemon shark if you prefer - which I love), sting ray (we tried that a few times....bit weird), kinas, dory.

Used to be quite funny too co the second the cats would hear the motorbike comign back, they would run straigh up to him waiting for their feed of guts and stuff while he gutted the fish...yet they hated him every other time LOL
