Sometimes if they really like you they will go for you and let you have the animals, i.e this house was not specified whether pets were ok or not.

I would also check domain.com.au - though that will have many of the same houses as realestate.com

Also, and this is my personal fave, check gumtree....heaps of rentals and a lot of them are private landlords. IMO you will find it easier to go private because you will get to meet the landlord instead of an agent....that way, the landlord will base the decision of pets on you personally as opposed to a bunch of tenants he hasnt met and is reading about on paper.
Definitely good advice....this house we are in now did not specify either way, i just always check before i bother filling out ten pages of application lol.....

I'ts going to be practically impossible to move out of my parents house when I can afford it.
Most places where I live don't allow pets and I have a cat, 2 dogs, 5 handraised birds and fish...

Lol, one of the dogs techniqually is not mine but if I move she would be coming.
People where I live always seem to lie about having pets, don't know how they get away with it when they have inspections

I used to have 3 dogs and 3 cats and always managed to find a property.

AandB, you lie about the number of pets you have? As a tenant with pets, I find that wrong. I have a fiend who pretends she doesnt have any dogs (she has 2 cockers) and ships them off to day care for inspections etc. However, it's obvious when someone has a dog if they have one and its people like that, that make it harder for the honest tenants with pets to get houses. That is why the landlords get stricter about it and it irks me something chronic.

You situation is slightly different, you havent said oyu have NO pets so it's not as bad, but its still wrong IMO
