    Thumbs down Green Ants!

Just wondering if anyone knows how to get rid of green ants? I mowed the lawn last weekend and found heaps of nests (they didn't like me mowing over them either ). Since we have had lots of rain and sunshine my lawn is going nuts and will need to be mowed again this weekend so I want to kill them all as I discover them!

    Any advice will be great!!

I have no idea, but we have thousands here too. The kids cry when bitten, and the dog runs off and has to lick himself better. I hate greenants

Lol I was going to spray them with bug spray, but I figured that would only get the ones on the top!

Lol Sam, I had them bite me on both feet while I was emptying the catcher! Little devils!!!

We bought some ant granules from Bunnings, but that only seemed like a temporary solution because they just abandon ship and setup somewhere else in the yard. I thought maybe flooding nests (with petrol or something) like K&P suggested but we haven't done that because of Oskar and the kids. There is something that exterminators use that they put down the nest and the ants take it back to the queen and they all kark it, but i imagine it would cost a pretty penny, and well we haven't obviously looked into it lol.

    Just found this...

Mix Borax with icing sugar. The ants will take it back to their nests and the Borax will kill them.

We do borax and honey inside straws then poke it down the hole.

Ahhh Queensland... is there any biting/venomous creepy crawly known to man that we do NOT have here?

I have a bucket of comatose cane toads ready in the coolroom most Tuesdays for bin day.
