Regional Accents, Do You Notice Them?

Yep I do. But more so the tone and what they say.

When speaking on the phone to someone from the Sydney, Melb or Tassie on the phone, they sound really edumucated and posh.....Almost like they are British.
    Very guarded in some ways..
Even go as far as being snobby and go silent for a bit when I say something they don't expect, like "hello and how's it going?".....Their short blunt approach with conversation really feels strange.

Where as someone from country areas from the above states and Northern Qld tend to be more relaxed, say what's on their mind, less cautious and understand my lingo.

Ive always called the council owned land between the road and your property a 'nature strip'. People from other states have pulled me up on it. Footpaths ?

When talking State of Origin to a NSW person and i mention winning, they have no idea what that is.

Nature Strip as far as I'm concerned lol and a footpath is IN the nature strip.

State of Origin ? what's that? is it another theory Darwin had somewhere between crawling out of the sludge and evolving into apes?

    Accent variation in Australian English
    (Broad Australian)
    (General Australian)
    (Cultivated Australian).

Some sound bytes of Ex polititions can be heard here.

i think Julia Gillard might fit the broad Aussie accent as well.
