    So glad I don't live in Canberra, brrr to cold for me for to long. I only have one bill elec and its around 200 bucks every 3 months for two people.

    Thats cheap, during winter my gas bill for the qtr is around $200/300 and my power bill is around $280. thats me living on my own with kids staying over regularly.

    My electricity is about $1200 every three months..

    Our last one was the lowest we have had in 3 years and it was $1000.

    Yeah sorry Beloz not only is it a $6 tax increase, you then also have to include how much the cost of living in general is going to go up.

    It costs me over $150 a week in petrol to get to work....that is at approx $1.40 p/l, I am SURE fuel prices will sky rocket with this new tax.
    The price of food, electricity, gas will all go up. For someone like me living on a single income, renting etc that is a lot of money each year. I struggle as it is.

    So it might be ok for you, but it isn't ok for me or a lot of people like me.

    You are getting ripped. I would be having an electrician around to work out why your house is using so much electricity, that is out of control and should not be that much. Do you leave everything in your house on 24/7? Because that is the only way I could think that you would have a bill that high?
