Yeah. I had some sweet talking to do very quickly and dinner last night was pretty average for some reason ? She came home to a very clean house today.

So I was now talking to a fella who said we have had lots of error prpblem come to their notice and they were going to try to fix them for me.
Hi Rid, I had an overseas call come in (a guy with possibly indian accent)
said he was calling on behalf of microsoft re all the error messages - which I have often now - ,
I did not have time to stuff around so hung up. He rang straight back but I did not pick up.
Thank you, now I know its scam callers.

This particular scam was on the news a few months ago I am sure.

Do people not watch the news any more?

When I rang and told the loacl cops here they said theat they sent warnings out on the radio, TV and print media.
But some how I never got this message.
But it does seem that these morons are doing everything theyt can to empty our bank accounts.
They can try with our if they want to but they might have to put some in to get some out.
I just thought that this should be known to everyone, due to I don't want anyone on here to be ripped off by low lifes like these.

    Bit OT..

But added my number to the Do Not Call Register

    https://www.donotcall.gov.au/

Only ones that call now are SLSC, rescue chopper groups etc. I politely ask not to call again and they don't.

    Apparently they are permitted.

I am sorry to tell you that this do not call thing isn't working too well.
I have got our home and mobile numbers on it and we still got the call.

I understand what you mean as your talking about a scam process.

That's why i said my reply was OT (Off Topic).

    Here's the FAQ's from that site https://www.donotcall.gov.au/faqs.cfm

    Paragraph 8. What is telemarketing?

Suppose it means this fraudulent activity not covered by that register.

    Did that make sense....

Charities are exempt from the Do Not Call Register.

The scammers get the numbers either from yellow pages or white pages AFAIK. They have nothing to do with the Do Not Call Register.
