Thread: Google Chrome Brilliant for Some.

  1. #1

Default Google Chrome Brilliant for Some.

Google Chrome has a great spell checker on it, it can't help with punctuation, but none the less it will help others decipher text in forum posts, some might be interested as I have come across posts that I just couldn't read. I can't be the only one to encounter this.

Add to that it is a very fast browser I highly recommend it.

    Really Beau ?

Bugga me....maybe its just me or my puter is about to die a painful death...I only just uninstalled it Chrome last night. I was having so many glitches.

I also cannot for the life of me get rid of this ruddy Ask page/tool bar from my Firefox either ,its the reason I went back to Explorer the last few days. Have uninstalled it numerous times, now it doesnt show up in the uninstall program list but still comes up as the home page /tool bar .

Wouldnt happen to know a decent replacement for Limewire by any chance ?

Oh and with the Ask toolbar, check in the add ons or under the toolbar menu to get it to uninstall. It comes with some games and I agree is freaking annoying! Go into your programs to delete it and in anything that is installed make sure you clear all of the check marks that comes up to install it. There is an option to not install it at all at the time, I just can't remember it exactly at the moment.

Beau thanks for that. I have used Chrome over two years now, which my partner installed. I have loved the spelling checks but unaware of that until you pointed out.

Choppa, that's because you haven't changed your homepage Tools > Options > "Homepage". Firefox has a spellchecker in it also, and it's much safer overall (security is of a higher standard then either Explorer or Chrome). I have also had a heap of problems with Internet Explorer, which is sort of poor all around.

Thankyou I had tried to download this last week but for some reason it kept getting most of the way through the install then stopping saying my machine needed to learn Java And yep all my updates etc are on ( though I find them more ruddy annoying then anything else,Adobe needs to , there is an update availible from ...etc etc lol )
But am going to give it another go today

Will also go through my prrograms later in the day and see what its attatched to because it just will not go away

I've tried that soooo many times though SSW

And like you,I'm not a fan of Explorer since discovering the smoother running and better features of Firefox . I really my FF , all my favourites etc are on that browser as well which annoys me no end now I'm using Explorer whilst I exterminate this Ask thing.

Honestly, I would just uninstall Firefox & reinstall it, after uninstalling it from programs.

So start by going into add or remove programs (or programs and features for windows 7), wait for the list to load and it should come up in there. Uninstall the toolbar, close the window that will inevitably pop up asking you why. Then uninstall firefox and reinstall it.

Should zap the program. Also when you're opening some games it'll have a little pop up open before the game loads asking if you want to install it again, double check that you've ticked no for that or you'll have to do it again.

Common problem with a few version of IE. Once you have firefox again you should be right.

I know, worked that out after I'd posted! But you can choose not to have it download!
