    people wont stop buying products cos of the carbon tax, they will grin and bear it like we do with everythign else we get shafted on..... the fuel tax is a joke.... most of the petrol price we pay is taxed... then we pay GST on top of it...... we pay tax on a tax... how is that possible...... sure they arent out to scam us, but they are trying to make a dollar out of us...without increasing the minimum wage... the cost of living keeps going up but wages etc dont........ that will be what wipes out humanity......

    We, in fact, one of the luckiest countries when it comes to personal wealth. Australians enjoy an incredibly high standard of living. Our inflation rate sits between 2 and 3%.

    The article I have taken this from is an interesting read;

    It is only referring to wages at the turn of our current centruy, but this figure hasn't altered a great deal either way.

    We have a beautiful lifestyle here in Australia, it isn't doom and gloom. Our economy is very strong, you only need to look at what happened during the recent GEC to see this. Our successive Governments have been succesful in managing and leading our country.

    youre right, we do have a great lifestyle here...... and yes we do the the wealth....but we also have a very high cost of living.... (sydney)......at last check we were in the top 5 i think of most expensive cities...... i know in brisbane/gold coast, the wages are alot higher (for tradies) and the cost of living is far lower...... and yes we did do well during the GFC, cos the howard goverment had built up a great surplus, and got the country into the position it was in for that time...... the rudd/gillard goverment jsut so happened to be given a well oiled machine and are slowly but surely running it into the ground.....a carbon tax.....a mining tax......really.... what next.......it will take a horward style of goverment to bring the country back to where it was.......

    FYI, im not a citizen so am not getting high and mighty about whichever party is in power... i cant vote.......... jsut calling it as i see it

    Hmm, not sure about the Howard Gov building up surplus, it was actually the actions of Rudd and his major spending on building that saw us sail through. However, that is neither here nor there. Little Johnny was part of the whole build up too I guess in a smaller way given that he was in power for many years preceeding it.

    Where are your from reyzor?

    I am not really into one politcal party or person moreso than any other either. I feel they all have their pluses and minuses.
