    muscle doesnt weigh more then fat....5kg of muscle weighs the same as 5kg of fat :P

    Muscle is more dense than fat though isn't it?, so you can weigh more but take a smaller size.

    5kg of muscle has the same mass as 5kg of fat. Muscle takes up less space (so is less dense). Weight is not quite the same as mass. Ie it has to do with gravity. So you can have 5kg (mass) of Helium but it isn't going to make an impression on your scales on Earth.

    But you put both into water and watch the staffy sink.

    Anyway - back on topic - and off the semantics - you can tone up, and gain weight or plateau, and lose inches off the waist line and be a whole lot healthier than you were, slightly lighter and larger.

    actually same mass in a smaller space makes it a higher density

    Which makes me more dense than usual.

    Maybe that last bit of apple cake will fix the problem.
