I've flown Virgin, Quantas & Jetstar. Never Tiger and never will fly Tiger. Their issues on their opening was enough for me to say no way in hell!

Actually I've been lucky with flights. Never had a delayed flight (I did miss one by (literally) one minute and thought it was a bit rough that Virgin wouldn't let me through as I only had carry on luggage though...). No-one has ever lost my luggage either...

    I would never fly tiger.

I have a severe flying phobia and will not even touch Qantas because it has been on the news so much.

I prefer to fly Air NZ, which is a bit impossible for domestic flights in OZ LOL. I have only flown once, 2 weeks ago and I went with Jetstar. The price was reasonable and I was really impressed with the service to be honest.

I have heard tiger is no good anyway because they often cancel flights. My friend picked up a $59 return flight from Bris to Sydney (and back). They cancelled the flight and her taxi home cost her more. PLus she was gutted coz she didnt get to see her mum.

virgin once took 10 hours to get me from Adelaide to Sydney. And our luggage took 12 hours. They put it down to a malfunctioning PA system ie if the PA is not working that plane can't take off. WTF - can't the hosties yell?

And all they offered by way of compensation was a one way credit. What use was that? It cost me a day off work and a night in a motel and a meal that I didn't need ie I didn't make the appointments I was supposed to in Sydney that day so may as well showed up the next day.

So I haven't flown with them since.

When jetstar started - they didn't have reserved seats - ie if there was two of you, you couldn't guarantee you'd get to sit together. Bugger that.

And tiger - no thanks. All those cancelled flights - ie if they didn't get enough passengers for any given flight, they'd just cancel it and passengers wouldn't find out till they got to the airport. So why bother booking with them if you want to get from A to B and they just as likely to cancel?

So all I have left is qantas for domestic. I might fly virgin again but only if I have a couple of days to waste.

    oh god pugger

I woulda been a mess ont hat flight. I had a rough landing in wellington once and I was sweating and gripping the seat arms. Pretending I was cool with it coz I was flying with my kid.

I even said to her 'Are you scared", she looked at me like I was crazy and said "No, why?", I was like "just checking" (might have been inappropriate to have said "glad your not coz im damn near cacking myself " LMAO)

I havent been home for almost 2 years because I cant handle 3 hours on a plane.

I must be one of the lucky ones as I have enver had my bags lost. I have flown with several Airlines domestic and international (including Jetstar as I said earlier) and never had any problems.

Allie - what didn't you like about your flight to Vietnam? I also flew Jetstar last year to Vietnam and I thought it was fine. I have flown to Vietnam with Malaysian Airlines also and they were good too.

I will say that I will never fly China Southern Airlines again though. I have flown with them 4 times both internation and domestic (domestic in China) and they were late every time. The service was crap. The planes are grubby and old. Never again.

Out of curiosity, what airlines has everyone flown with?

    Airlines I have flown with;
    Ansett (many years ago)
    Qantas
    Virign
    Jetstar
    Malayasian
    Angkor Air
    Vietnam Airlines
    China Southern
    Thai Airways
(another Thai domestic airline but I can't recall the name)
    Qantas Link
    Rex Airlines

There's probably another couple that I haven't thought of. There used to be a regional airline, based just outside of Orange NSW, and I have flown with them also but I can't recall the name. I have also booked flights to Sri Lanka later this year and I can;t recall who I have booked them with. I recall it being a carrier I hadn't flown with before but I'd have to check the paperwork to see which one it was.

Chinese planes have a nasty habit of dropping like a stone out of the sky. And because China has so many people and not much value on human life but more value on saving face, you don't usually hear about it unless there happen to be Australian tourists on board.

Can't say I remember all the different plane companies I've flown with.

    Recently -
singapore airlines - with my knees around my ears in the back - argh.

Malaysian airlines up the front. They don't have lay back flat seats so I couldn't sleep but they have everything else and it's so nice being able to straighten ones legs and get up and go for walk and a drink without waking and climbing over the person next to you.

Qantas. - get to sit in the lounge with mum on family trips
    Air NZ
    Virgin (currently avoiding)
Ansett - ah well - miss them.
