    I'm not sure if we have any members who are in the path of the cyclone headed for the coast of QLD but if we do heres hoping you and yours stay safe and well.

    Scary stuff..i was seventeen when i went through Cyclone Tracy and it is so much smaller then Yasi.
    I pray for them up there, I hope all goes as well as possible

    Oh wow Newfsie! You went through Tracey! That would of been terrifying!
    And I didnt realise that Yasi was bigger than Tracey.....very scarey stuff ....

    I was so upset to here everyone that evacuated to shopping centres and such had to leave their pets behind to fend for themselves...

    I too wish goodluck to everyone in the area that are bound to be affected.

    Yes, The diameter of Tracey will totally fit into the Eye of Yasi.. Does that help with size comparason ? * insert scared ****less icon here *

    Just thinking , so if Tracey was smaller and wiped out Darwin,can we assume that if Cairns cops full brunt of this storm it will be flattened as well , as in wiped out like Darwin was ?

    Thank goodness the building codes were amended as a result of Tracey, so todays buildings are stronger than the day Tracey hit.. Still, there will be a lot of damage south of Cairns to Ingham..

    Traceys eye was 50kms and it was about 400km.s wide. Yasi eye is 100+ kms wide and over 600kms wide already, before hitting land

    We did not go to shelters, because my parents refused to leave our dogs. We lost our horses though, had to shoot them the next day . I will always remember our Gorgeous Appaloosa Stallion. he was the seventh Registered Appaloosa in Australia
