It is good to have a debate. It gets the issues out there and discusses them. Some people learn, some dont, some listen, some dont. Some times ones own opinions shift slightly and you have a bit of a rethink about certain things.

That is a point of a discussion forum. Some people one will never agree with, that is the same in any part of life. The trick is on a forum to try and remain focussed and respectful even if one is feeling annoyed. One does not have to get involved in threads they find upsetting, just walk away is the best solution.

    Thanks for your support anyways.
Me finks you misunderstood my post.

Forums are difficult to judge mood & meaning CD. Gawd this gets tricky eh.

Plus I'm a shocker at wording sentences sometimes

What I meant was, I am very new & still learning from people like you. A lot of what I read here makes me sit back and think wow....I am suddendly way outa my depth again......"WTF & Not reading to deeply" was probably taken the wrong way, just it's difficult knowing exactely what people mean, that's all.

    Thank gawd for smiley emoticons

Oh Chips smileys are a life saver arn't they.
I totaly agree it can be hard to know how it's meant when reading the written word whereas in person body langue & facisal exspressions fill in the blanks.

Debates are excellent. I think if there was no debate, there would be no growth and we would all be doing the exact same thing day in and day out....how thrilling that would be. If we all agreed on absolutely everything, I wouldn't ever have any fun as I love a good debate (shock horror I even love a full on fight on occasion, especially with the OH LOL)

CD, I don’t think anything has been aimed at you at all. Your posts are often well thought out and sensible, sometimes a little sensitive and defensive but that's understandable

I, on the other hand, tend to say exactly what I think without checking to see whether it is appropriate (or caring whether it is appropriate) and am not very good at wording things in a way that isnt the first thought that pops in my head. I am also very honest (translate that to tactless is probably more accurate) so even if I say something that makes me look like a loser, I will say it anyway. Assumption being the mother of all f*** ups, I am still going to assume it is I who “annoy” people and get them all frustrated with my offensive personality (and subsequent bad dog ownership LOL).

Not to worry, I don’t mind at all. I am who I am and cannot help that and wouldn’t want to change it for anything. Besides, I am used to being unpopular on forums because I have a big mouth and am not particularly likeable.

When I was studying a tutor gave me some very good advice. He said to me “Your honesty and your mouth are your strongest and your weakest points. You are not afraid to say what you think regardless of how others will see you or how the person you are telling will react, this will serve you well in business in that people may like your “freshness” (yes, he used air quotes). On the other hand you sometimes need to learn when to shut the f up (yes, the bugger swore at me), sometimes the boss doesn’t want to hear what a crap idea he has just had and if you tell him itll just get you in trouble”.

Unfortunately, I never was very good at following instructions from ‘superiors’ so even though I remember the advice clearly, I seem to be incapable of following it LOL. Maybe it will come with a few more years but looking at my mother, I am doubting it lol

I think in order to have a successful forum it has to include members from a wide range of personalities and with opposing opinions etc. I just happen to fill a niche that not many other people want and I dont mind at all LMAO

I think you are all really good people with sometimes some fantastic advice and sometimes maybe some not so excellent advice and I really enjoy posting here, hopefully I don't annoy too many people as that is not my intent (it's just inherent LOl).

I joined this forum, because it said cross breed and pure breed. i am not into any large volume breeding. But to me I will always be open to e new idea or at least let someone run with it. As long as animals are treated well and fairly.
I have done some reading into cross breeding from the Search and rescue people ( Border Collie cross Golden retriever)and I was a little offended when it was said that it was just cross breeding they did. But I let it go.....I know those people put a lot thought in their cross breeding. It was for what the dogs could do not for what they looked like or their coat, like the labradoodle at all. The pups they have bred are 80% working full time in SAR....They are working in Earthquake and all those disaster areas all over the world. And they have found they are longer lasting and healthier than the Golden and not as sensitive as the Border Collie, who often get depressed from working such an awful job.
I take each case at face value and individually and everyone has a right to a opinion......
I am getting on in age, but love learning and hearing what other people do. Personally I am not into small dogs, but that is my opinion and that does not make it right

I have a crossbreed dog and she is perfect. I am looking into breeding her. And no im not doing it to make a buck or just to do it willy nilly. I beleive that it calms dogs down, regardless of others opinion on that. I would love hr to have puppies for me as well, I would get alot out of her having puppies and it would only be one litter. There is nothing wrong with cross breeds and its the backyard arseholes that have attached the bad name to cross breeds, not the people that actually care about there dogs.

While I am all for cross breeding I do have a question for you....if you are just breeding her for one litter to "calm her down" aren't you also just a BYB?

IMO a BYB is anyone who has a litter of pups and is not a registered breeder or a puppy mill.
