Default My Fridge Magnets from Afghanistan

I collect them and Jokingly told Nick to buy me one when he was over there.
"Yea right mum. I will pick one up at the mess tent," lol.

He arrived back on the 10th Dec.
Christmas 2006 he was in Iraq.

    Well.
    He designed these.
They were then submitted to the camp tailor (who makes all the patches for their uniforms) Nick then added a magnetic backing.
His Colonel saw these and promptly ordered them for his Mother and Mother in Law.
The tailor also displays them so I bet more orders will come in for him.

Needless to say I love them.

I also spent a wonderful few days over Christmas with him, his wife and my 4 grandies.
It was my greatest wish to do this as I may have to battle my cancer again. We will see at the scan at the end of Feb. For a while it looked like that with the floods we may not have been able to get through but roads opened just in time.

Such a wonderful fun filled Christmas seeing it through the eyes of children again!
    They even slept till 7am!!!!!!!!

Ah, the trouble with being a soldier's mum.

They are cute, but I'm guessing you'd rather he didn't have the opportunity to get them made up (ie stayed somewhere nice and safe).

And that's the trouble with a good soldier. Most of them don't feel quite complete? finished? if they don't go somewhere dangerous with a fight / war. Even if it's the engineering squad sent to build airstrips, bases and schools. Sigh.
