Default Are You a Coffee Drinker?

    Hi,

I love coffee. (I have every coffee paraphernalia you can think of)

Recently I have had a few nasty migraine which made me considering decaf coffee for afternoon cups. Do you know any good brand decaf coffee beans with good creama and flavour from internet based shops or even supermarket brands? I also want info on good coffee beans you can recommend? (I think I tried most supermarket brands) At the moment I use Mokador coffee beans but want to try something else. Thanks
I love cooking but I love eating even more.

    Nah

I love coffee too, but try to limit my "real" coffee from fresh beans to no more than three a day. Migranes come when you don't get enough coffee. If I have more than 6 cups real coffee - I get migranes the next day or even in the middle of the night coming off the stuff.

I drink a lot of instant - not the same drink, neither is decaf. I drink instant decaf (horror) but it gives me the warm feeling without contributing to headache level caffeine doses.

I saw something on the telly about a sort of distilled coffee where they remove the crema because it's "bitter" so they are left with only the "sweet" coffee flavour - oh the horror. I might have to try it though. I like the malasian pulled tea stuff. It's like tea flavoured milo.

DJs has nice coffee - don't know if they do online though. You might try asking at whirlpool.net.au - there's bound to be more coffee addicts there.

    Thanks Hya,

Don't you find the instant coffee stains your teeth? I have discoloured teeth due to my childhood antibiotics overload and even more noticed when i drink instant coffee at work. Perhaps it is tea!!
I do not understand people drinking coffee without nice creama on the top (I even ask for replacement if my long black does not have that on the top.)
Anyway I will have a look at DJ what they have. When i also tried coffee pod, I had migraine. It was not just me...my partner, too. I think there is something going on with pods or we are just prune to migraine...

There's probably loads of caffeine in coffee pod.

There are nice coffee flavoured lollies in the supermarket - that kids can buy and eat. And I had those coming on a long car trip about 1 an hour for 12 hours, and boy did I hurt the next day. Each one was worth one expresso of fresh brewed coffee, I reckon.

Stains - yes teeth go funny colour from brewed coffee, instant coffee, tea, red wine, smoking etc. It's the tannin. You could try drinking it with a straw. I find sun (ie smiling outdoors) has the opposite effect ie bleaching. Take dog for more walks at the beach?

unfortunately I am not a beach babe, beside north parramatta is miles away from the beach. I prefer mountains.

I also have problems with moles affected by the sun (i have two suspicious moles removed from my right arm last a few years. I can see new ones coming out much faster than my left arm....perhaps driving...anyway regular visit to doctor's can maintain healthy skin...hopefully.....)

It is however I can picture myself making a hole for the teeth and facing the sun Look I do anything to avoid teeth bleaching by a dentist (I did a few and I don't bother any more and they were quite unpleasant!!) except I won't stop drinking coffee .

I just go with the yellow teeth look and when the dentist tries to sell me teeth whitening - I think about changing dentist. I do think the toothpaste you use can make it worse ie regular colgate can strip enammel from your teeth - so might want to try the sensitive stuff. Not sure what "whitening toothpaste" does but I'd avoid anything that involves the cut-and-polish effect - cos "cutting" will make it worse long term.

    Slightly off topic.
My son has gone to Afghanistan (army) for two months.
He took with him some of his fave ground coffee beans, extra beans, a portable grinder and plunger. His fear was that the coffee would not get through customs and worst case scenario was that the customs people would have great coffee for a few days.

He is a mad coffee nut too.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

Afghanistan - quarantine - hard to imagine.

Germany doesn't bother. Neither does Egypt. Strangely Malaysia wants to know if you have stuff, but doesn't then check or provide a place to dump or declare. It's going back into Oz where you get the third degree - so I always declare, always have lollies - ie things I can eat etc, and so far they've only taken my sister's Bali souvenirs away - woven plant leaf bag - turned out to be banana or water hyacinth or something that must be burned.

    I can totally understand him!!

I have a few Afganistan friends and they are not big on coffee unlike the turkish or lebanese love coffee, they are tea drinkers. BTW I hope everything goes smoothly for your son.
