can air dry then use a straightener? Or is it just the movement involved (arms above head for extended period) that sets off the nerve in hip?

I could try a straightener, but would it be possible to get volume doing it that way?

It's a combiation of the sound and blowing air, it can happen when someones blowing or wispering around my left ear as well. It's one one the reasons I had my hair long.

I did the pixie cut a few years back for travelling, grew it back in the end cos I didn't feel quite myself with short hair. Also without the extra hair to weigh it down it would stick straight up in the mornings!

twist/scrunch and pin/tie it on top of your head to dry overnight, I love my straightener, I use that to style more then my hairdryer. I have a GHD one and I can curl/roll/straight and volumise with it. Just takes a while to get the hang of it.

    - alternatively if your going somewhere and have time to go the long way towel dry and put it in rollers for a few hrs then use straightener - i know it sounds like your defeating the purpose of rolling it in first place but thats just to dry the roots off the head which gives it volume.

my hair has thinned alot since having kids so I freak out about having flat hair alot, I am no stranger to the tease comb either.

I recently went from elbow-length hair to a very short bob. I love it! My advice is give it a go, you can always grow it again.
