    LOL .... what a pisser !!

Did you notice my new front gate my new "hubby" has installed instead of that horrible white picket thing ??

You mean THIS little chap .... He likes to sit out there & watch the world go by. People walking past the house always give him a bit of a pat when he's sitting on the post that has the letter box on it.

Scout will go to "great heights" to get away from Spirit. The 2 of them have a really weird relationship. Scout is "prey" for Spirit, and yet Scout never tires of teasing Spirit.

They are the "Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton" combo ... they love each other with so much passion and yet ... as a bystander, I always wonder if they will actually kill each other.

Basically ... If Shakespeare could have been bothered writing a play about the "animal kingdom" when he was thinking about "The taming of the Shrew", Scout & Spirit would have been the main characters.

He likes it up there & will go into his "King of the World" pose sometimes. He also likes to sit on the pillars either side of the gate so that when people pass by, they stop & give him a pat. Most cats would nick off when people were approaching that close, but not Scout.

That's alright. I'm very excited about my new gate as that crappy old white thing had been there since I bought the house in 1991. It was such a pain for people coming & going, as you no doubt noticed when you came for a visit.

Ta. For a male cat, he's very "pretty".

I must tell you a funny story ... Scout was so "pretty" as a kitty, at the vets when I saw him in the "play enclosure" & was considering taking him home, they told me "kitty" was a girl.

So on the drive home, I was thinking about names "she" could possibly have before OH gave me the green light to bring kitty home. By the time I got home, "She" was going to be called "Pheobe" I decided.

Once my heart was committed, I get a phone call ... a male ... WTF !!! So I picked up OH from the train station & we went & saw the wee thing anyway at the vets.

Fresh out of ideas for names because of "gender confusion", when we got to the vets, we let kitty out of it's enclosure ... it "scooted" around the place, "scouting" for a vantage point to "look & play", so we decided to call the "gender bender" Scout.

I love "To Kill a Mockingbird" & Scout the character ... so Scout it was. And that's how Scout came to live at my place & get his name ..... The End.
