    Default Pie Drive

Anyone done A Pie Drive before?

    I have just started one.

any tips for a newbie? LOL

What i have thought of so far

trying to get as many people to collect pies from my house -saves me driving around all day/night

my team who are selling pies - i have asked them that if possible, they be in charge of doing delivery's for any orders they take, I will drop all pies to them, then they take it from there.

No options for addresses, but i am making a note against names for people who want delivery over picking them up themselves, so on the day it wont be a big mess

I am going to print tags off for everyone before the pies arrive, note what they have ordered, their phone number and if they are picking up or not.

Will ring people about a week before to remind them (mum has free phone calls, so wont be too bad)

Not surre what else i need to know? I am a bit scared now ! LOL

Yes, make the people who sell the pies for you, responsible for getting them to their customers.

First time out, don't get too carried away - pies can take a lot of space. Also make sure people who are picking up, know there is a time limit and if they haven't picked up by x date, their pie is finding a new home and they're not getting their money back.

When I worked in an office, I sold pies there. My main technique was to tell people it was ok to say "no", so I could move on to find a person who did want some. It was much faster that way, than trying to drag a "no" out of someone who really didn't want to risk offending you but didn't want a pie either. And the bonus of the office was, delivery was to one place.

Labelling each pie (or box full) with where they are going - would make things much easier, and then sorting the boxes by name or suburb or both (depending on pick up or delivery) - would also make things easier.

Thanks, it is a small town so not too big of an area to cover, pies are all being
made by a bakery, so we just have to sort them!!

this should be obvious - get a box of those disposable food gloves and use those to handle the pies - even if they're wrapped up.

And don't let a dog in with the pies.
