Thread: Computer Set Ups? Desks??

    Default Computer Set Ups? Desks??

Just wondering what sort of set up everyone has for their computers?

At the moment I have a lap top, but am getting a desktop today/tomorrow (when cousin is free to bring it over)

I am slowly getting my house to how I want it, and want a good set up with lots of space, I currently have a filing cabinet but would be more than happy to get a desk with one built in and chuck the one i have now.

Any photos to share? what has and has not worked for you?

I am in a unit, so can not have something too big!

    Just hit ikea and/or officeworks
they have a huge range of desks, storage solutions etc.
they have websites you could google as well...

Cant really post pictures or speak from experience cause atm I use a laptop on a fold up camping table and a kitchen chair! (highly uncomfortable I tell you!)
I just cant be bothered to spend money on a new desk and chair!

My dining table Only problem with that is the support beam that goes all the way around the edge so I have to sit a bit lower. I like it because it is deep and I can do my crafts while using the computer. I like at least the height of an A4 page between the keyboard and desk edge.
I also have a desk that my parents had made which is just a plain desk, I have filing cabinets either side rather than underneath so I can move my chair and use the length of the desk.
I have also thought of just getting 2 filing cabinets with a piece of wood to sit on top - with the edges finished of course

Well... the hinge on my lappy is broken so it's stuck open permanently, plus the battery pack in it died so it has to be permanently plugged in to the wall!
Mine is permanently set up on the coffee table in the living room and I have one of those bucket type fold out chair bizzos that I drag over when I use it.

I would mind getting something like the tray tables on wheels they have in hospitals... that way I can use it on the couch or sitting somewhere else and it's easy to move.

The desktop computer is set up on a ridiculously large office station in the spare room, courtesy of my OH lugging it home as a 'surprise'

Got a desk-top set-up, but can switch back nd forth between ethernet and wireless broadband for when the kids want to go on-line for XBox etc.

Big computer desk out in the front room, but it's starting to get little worse for wear as it's fairly old now. I'd like a new computer desk when we can afford it, a smller but higher one, I think.
