Default What Do You Do for a Living???

Apologies if this thread has been done before!

I'm curious...what do we all do for a living? To pay the bills so that we can keep our precious pooches in the lifestyle they have become accustomed to!

I'm a primary school teacher. I can technically teach to Year 10 but who'd wanna do that!

    How about you???

Thought we had done this recently but as I was bored I went back 25 pages (nov) in off topic lol. I still may have missed it or I may just be nuts.

We are farmers, Hubby and his Dad manage the farms between them. I have always been a stay at home Mum as I have been lucky enough to have the choice.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

I had an inkling it was done before too...but couldn't find it either! Maybe we are both nuts!

I've always admired farmers. Not something I could do! I went out and stayed on a 20,000H property for 3 weeks when I was at Uni. It was like a volunteer prac and I taught children who were doing school of the air. It was an amazing experience but I was busting to go home at the end of it. We were SO isolated. We went into town ONCE in 3 weeks and ate beef for dinner EVERY night! Lucky I LOVE beef!

kinda travel agent cept I only book domestic flights (usually mel-syd-mel) for certain companies, no face to face or selling or anything like that.
I would love to be a farmer even though it would at times be a hard life I am sure it would just be so fufilling- like your actually doing something worthwhile.
Same with teaching... if i could go back and do it all again I would be a kindy or year 1 or 2 teacher. would be fantastic.

The farms out here are in 500 acre lots, irrigation as well though not much of that at all in the last 8 years. In good times we grow rice, wheat, barley, oats for the prime beef cattle.
We used to home kill but don't anymore. I am rather glad as many years ago, the last time they did was 2 days before Christmas. Can you imagine trying to find freezer room for half a beast at that time of year?????

I am an admistrative officer in a breast cancer research group.
Some times it can be like being a glorified P.A., other times a graphic designer and yet other times a statisican! Or a receptionist, computer wiz etc.
Hubby is a line-haul truckdriver which means he takes a B-Double from Newcastle to Sydney, then might pick up some containers from the port or do some deliveries to the big food warehouses and then drives a B-Double back to Newcastle at night and that load gets distributed by small trucks the next day!

Combined with looking after the kids I do anything to do with dogs.

I have some clients that come on Saturday mornings for lessons, lovely group, and at the moment I have a job right next door training two Siberian Huskies not to rush past people thru doors and gates as they worry stock when they get out.

And I have a Gordon Setter pup coming for show training each evening - soooo cute.
