I hate my job too Unfortunately we bought a house and I am too worried about not having enough money each month to risk changing jobs. As much as I hate my job I just have to deal with it until we sell our house.
And Belle I was 14 and a half when I got my first job. It just depends on the owner, something to do with insurance I think? I worked in a restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights which actually helped me not be so shy.

I have been very lucky that with both marriages (one for 8 years and 2 kids, the second 19 years now) that I was able to choose to work or to be a stay at home mum. I chose the more important job (to my mind) of being there for them. Subsequently I have not "worked" in 30 years. I am so grateful for that as I am very well aware that there are many many women in the workforce who would love to have the choice but do not.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.

yeah its is beyond horrific being stuck here.
But it is a hard predicament. As I have been in my chosen field ever since I left school this is the only experience I have and its taken me a long time to get the salary in this field to something decent from a lot of hard work.
To leave this industry I would have to start from the bottom of another which means taking a huge chunk of my salary, which would make every other aspect of life harder.
Otherwise my only options are to work at woolies or subway etc (which is actually looking very enticing at the moment)
so basically it is a choice between money and being happy in a job. And ahh what if my new field is just as bad or as worse as this one!
and this place offers 3 months paid maternity leave which would come in very handy when that time comes. So i say to myself just hold out for 1 or 2 more years until that time comes up..
ahh so much to think about when I never seem to have time to think.
lol sorry for the long post

Same here, it is only the money that keeps me here! Unfortunately I have never had the opportunity to not work. Up until really recently I have always been the main breadwinner! So only break in 34 years of working was when I had breast cancer and that was only just over 1 year off!
