Default A Win Against Parking Tickets!

My boyfriend and I went to the red bull air race today so he could take some photos. We parked on someone's verge and walked down to the river.

We were only at the river for an hour, then we stopped at a cafe for lunch on the way back to the car. We left the cafe, and as we started walking up the street where the car was parked, we noticed parking inspectors were handing out tickets. As we got nearer to the car we realised we didn't have one yet! The male inspector was writing a ticket 2 cars down from ours, and the woman started on the car in front of ours. We just made it to the car in time to drive away without a ticket. Oh yeah!!!!!

ooooo lucky I thought WOWW you contested a fine and actually got out of it!?

I recently contested a fine which was complete BS!!!! and it was $107 and I got a letter back basically saying 'too bad so sad', I considered taking it to court, but I really cant be bothered, which is bad I know, because they just get away with it!

Oops yeah the title makes it sound like I took them on!

You could take them on but wouldn't it cost you more money? Man, councils can be so infuriating!

    LOL

We always park in the 2 hour car park, depending on his mood, the parking guy will walk into our shop, look at us and go "race you?"

PMSL, we all take off to move our cars before he gets down there, or he will mark it the second we get out of it, and tell us to bring coffee in 2 hours !

The other parking person gives us tickets, so we have to be very careful, I think i might play it safe and park in the all day one around the block for now on! LOL

Me and my boss used to park in a 2 hour zone, and I'd set a timer and go out just before 2 hours were up and wipe the chalk off our tyres with wet paper towel I kept in the car. This was before digital camera phones so we used to get away with it.

Pretty sure the chalk method is obsolete in my town now, they just enter the licence plates and location codes into their machine and come back and check later.

Parking on verges is forbidden though. It compacts the ground, buggers the lawn if there is one and makes life hard for the street trees. And some of my friends have evil neighbours who call the parking officer the minute anyone does that near their place, and they come out - after hours - go figure.
