Default Local Lady Eats Roses to Escape Breathaliser. True Story.

Ha ha. No not kidding. a Burnie lady was dobbed in for getting into her car after having a beer. Only one beer, but she was pulled over for a random breathaliser only seconds down the road.

The police tested her, and she was honest and explained she'd only had one beer, couldn't be possible. Police agreed to do a second test for a confirmative result.

Then the police stood there looking into the car with their jaws dropping as the lady proceeded to search through the car for any lollies or gum. All she had was a fresh bunch of roses she'd bought that afternoon.

Yep, she actually ate them!!! And it worked, the breathaliser came back negative. The police were simply...speechless.

Now I know you think some funny things about us down here, but even I wouldn't roses!!! PMSL.

Didn't make a difference AF - even if she thought it did. For about 15 minutes after you have a drink you will show an abnormally high reading due to the alcohol being still present in your mouth. If you wait until that disperses then any that triggers a reading comes from the lungs and is an indicator of blood alcohol.

No doubt she was going to have to wait for 15 minutes if she had just had a drink - to get a clear reading. If she wanted to spend that 15 minutes eating roses then good luck to her! At least the cops would've been entertained!!

People no longer on their Ps are allowed to drink one or two, so long as they don't go over the legal blood alcohol limit. One beer is hardly going to cause her to crash and kill people =/

    Lol. They were highly entertained.

That's correct to my understanding SSW - the alcohol was reading from her mouth, there was nothing in her blood due to only being one glass of beer, apparently.

It would have gone from her mouth shortly anyway lol but yea, a good read. AF, even a liqueur chocolate and sometimes cough syrup if just taken will still give a high mouth alcohol reading.

Any posts made under the name of Di_dee1 one can be used by anyone as I do not give a rats.
