Thread: Anyone Have a Caravan?

    Default Anyone Have a Caravan?

What type and was it a good investment to have?

I'm tossing up between a caravan and a camper trailer, irregular usage.

Nooooooo.. we don't have a caravan, not any more anyway... i discovered 4starr hotels, much more comfy, roomy, luxurious

Depending if your planning to go off road or not..but for the adventurous traveler i think a 4 x 4 pop up trailer thingy is more versatile etc.. but then again choice is a personal thing, we have different needs etc etc etc

I used to have a Coromal caravan off-roader. After years of camping on the ground I thought I deserved it. We used to swag it everywhere because to me I'd rather pack up a swag than a tent and there's not much between them.

    Divorced - it got sold.

We now have a camper. Just a basic one, not off-road though we do tow it behind our 4x4, but these days we're just looking for a spot just that bit further away than the crowds, country dog shows, or that big 40th/50th birthday bash.

It's a Oztrail 6?? I think it's called, didn't get a good write up compared to other campers because of the lightweight canvas but then we only use it about 5 times a year and we've not had any problems with it. We even tow it to parties for our bed, takes about 3 minutes to put up, about another 5 minutes if you want the awning and about another 5 or so minutes if you want the walls on the awning.

We didn't bother with the ones with the kitchen etc because we already had all the camping gear anyway and who wants to cook under canvas. But the bed is lovely, off the ground, you've got an area if it's raining.

Not had any problems packing it up wet. I always thought the wet might seep into the bed, but no so far so good.

We bought it at the caravan and camping show about 5 years ago on special, we were going to get a new esky.
