Thread: Aggression in the Forum.

I think to be perfectly honest some "old and new" members have at times got a little heating in their posts and may have come across as agressive.
Occy, you have got a little offensive in posts gone by as well and am wondering if you may get your "jollies" by making some of your posts a little cryptic as in yesterday's one where people were starting to doubt themselves and caused a little kerfuffle in itself!
Brittney was a little bit over the top when she joined, but have you noticed she has curbed this a little, but I don't think it is to "curry favour", but to actually be able to be a part of and get responses from other forum members.
Apologies if I have got "the wrong end of the stick", but I don't think so!

(Its spelt Brittany, Boh Just call me Brit, its easier for people that way )
Exactly. I know that I was bad when I first joined, but thats the past now. Hell, I was reading some of my old threads yesterday, and I wouldve gotten sick of myself aswell.

Occy, I think that you have been pretty offensive and confronting in your posts lately, and it has caused some arguements.

    I agree Boh

But to be honest , the only posts I've seen lately that are offensive are yours Occy.
Be that as it may these posts are easy to skim past guys

Apart from that, I'm with DA in saying I havn't noticed an 'aggressive' vibe .

FFS - if I want to be offensive, you will know it, I don't sugarcoat anything. I however, am not the only one who has issue with members going into threads and talking down other peoples opinions or information. I do find it quite hurtful that MODERATORS on this forum think that that is a joke - yes DA I did see you post in the prong collar thread.

I am seriously disappointed that a thread to suggest members curb the aggression they may be showing towards other members has been closed.

We can all read, I'm sure. The fact that some members read the opening post yet still choose to ignore it is dumbfounding.

I'm still trying to work out what is going on and why everyone is so sensitive about everything. Heck you can't even ask someone to explain something to you when you don't understand what they have said!

I also think it's ridiculous to tell everyone not to say "I would never do this" because frankly that's how it is. Some people would never do that. That's not crapping all over someone else's advice, saying "you don't know what you're talking about" is crapping on someone else's advice.

I'm getting more and more frustrated with having to bite my tongue and reconsider everything that I say 'Just in case' it offends someone. No-one will always get along with everyone else. No-one will always agree with everyone else. We're human, that's the way it is. At least if you disagree with someone explain why. Don't just say I disagree without explaining your position on it.

Going back to my dial-up speed induced hibernation now.

If people have genuine good intentions behinde what they type then there is no reason for things to spiral out of hand.

No one on this forum is an absolute expert in every field possible - there is always more to learn.
but everyone has valid life experiences we could at least respect and listen too, doesn't mean you have to follow. If you disagree, discuss it.. not argue it blindly.

No one has the right to humiliate, mock or judge someone within 5seconds of reading a post. There is always much more to the story behinde the post then what is shown so maybe self restraint needs to be shown a little more untill the whole story emerges.

This forum can pull together to make wonderful things happen for both people and animals, it can also shatter someones confidence and curiosity in 2sec flat.

Im not implying we need to make the forum a like an episode of the Brady Bunch with excess smilies and triple checking our msg before we post so we don't hurt someones feelings... Be yourself, be nice and remember why we are all here in first place.

    Much love
    Bec.

Wouldn't it be better to recommend
than to work hard to offend?
Why not say, I'd rather do like so
and let people make choices as they go?

Perhaps if ppl thought before they posted
about others feelings, so they don't get toasted
to kick someone when they're down
is something upon which Aggie does frown

this isn't school or a playground here
people should post without a fear
but to say you wouldn't when you've never tried
    might hurt another posters pride

Perhaps there are things no reasonable person would try
things that cause an animal to die
but just remember what Aggie says
diversity is what it's about these days
