Default Sometimes, People Can Just Blow You Away

'We went to see Steven Spellmaster and his hypnosis show tonight at our small local club. We saw him a few years ago when he was here last. I was impressed with his care of the people on stage, his raport with the audience.
Bloody hubby would not allow me to volunteer (Di does not need hypnosis to happily make a fool of herself) due to the chemo.

I have always been a believer in medical hypnosis, I did give up smoking a while with it before. Dede gave up 11 years with a couple of sessions, my father, who is 83 now has given up a 2 pack a day habit after 2 sessions for 13 years.

I asked his assistant at half time could she ask him if he was interested in a paid one on one session after the show, to help bolster my drive and resolve re the cancer, fatigue, smoking and insomnia. He could only say no, right?

    He said yes.

After the show hubby found a quiet disused back kitchen and the 3 of us went there. We had the session. Steven told me he would send me a tailored to me CD for use at home to reinforce all this. He told us he used to have a clinic.

    HE WOULD ACCEPT NO PAYMENT!

I find it very hard to be a "taker" I am a giver. I have his email addy so I think I will ask if there is some specific charity that he likes to support so I can give a donation. Failing that I thing I will donate to RADAR rescue that operates in my area...the people who found River his forever home.

My email to him, titled the old cancer cow from the (insert town) back kitchen.

    Dear Steven,
Thank you so much for what you did for me tonight. Whilst yes I am strong, yes I will beat this bloody cancer it is so nice to be able to give up control occasionally to someone else. To just relax, revive.
    Here however is my delema.
I am such a giver and I find it so hard to take (yea Di, get over it) however:-
    You would accept no payment.
I am blown away by that.
If you accept no payment for yourself, is there some charity that you support that I can give a donation to? ( I did ask your sound man.) Failing any answer from you I will give a donation to RADAR pet rescue. (feel threatened? lol)
All I can say is thankyou.
Many hugs and many verbal /written on net forums recommendations to see your show
    Di

What a wonderful human being that man is
I continue to be amazed by some people, I really have not experienced many profesionals who are that giving
I know how weird you must feel not being able to give back, I am much the same on a smaller scale I have one friend who EVERY TIME I come to sydney, insists I stay with her, no matter what she has on, and gives up her own bed for me "Its more confortable than the spare" despite her many heath issues. Then on top of that she never lets me pay for any of the food or anything! I faught with her for years trying to change it, I still leave 'forgetting' to pick up that money I left on the dresser , but it seems she is more strong willed than me and she has won... for now.
Your donations to charity are wonderful. Thank you for making my morning

Breeding, Showing, Training and general crazy making!!!

Di, how wonderful that he was kind enough to help you, great idea about the donation. I have a couple of friends that come help me out from time to time, yet I can never help them, so instead I use the "Pay It Forward" principle...
