It was crazy here in Perth last night! The power at work went out, we went home early and had to wade through almost-knee-deep water in Leederville to get to the train. It sucks about all the damage to people's property, but at the same time I've always loved storms like this. It was great to get some proper rain for a change.

My sister's house had some minor flooding under the front door, and her oldest can't go to school for days because it was damaged.

And she said they were at the doctors, in a room full of small children when another mum walked in the front door basically having hysterics - and despite my sister's best efforts to hint that she might not want to go to pieces in the waiting room and freak out all the children - it didn't work at least the woman refused to calm down but the children largely ignored her - I guess they're more accustomed to others (other little kiddies anyway) freaking out than we might expect. I suggested a method calm the woman down to my sister that reminded her of Flying High. Oops.

ugh i am so over this storm and the fun is only begining

I lost a steel pole that was cemented into the ground holding a shade sail, said shade sail then belted into my window and smashed it.

I have a 10 ft antenna on my roof (no lie, have no idea why anyone needs 10 feet of steel protruding from their house but it was here when we moved in) thats currently hanging off the side of my house making it impossible for my neighbours to get into their drive way..

I dread to think what the top of our house looks like, im guessing not pretty though the SES guys rkns despite the damage it's not too shabby..

I am now living in a tent with the amount of tarps on my roof, but they did say it was overkill as they were expecting more rain during the night.. They came today and removed most of what they could..

The rest is now upto insurance.... maybe by 2020 i might have my house back to how it should be..

Oh Jodz, that's awful, but the house can be fixed, as long as you and your loved ones didn't get hurt that's the main thing.

I too hope everyone in those areas is okay.
