    I actually like doing it

TBH and this is going to sound backwards of me, I wish it were still like the 40's and 50's. At least there was innocence then - there were still issues but nothing like what we have today.

I love cooking a great meal and having hubby enjoy it and compliment me on a job well done. I like spending the day cleaning, when it's done I get a brilliant sense of accomplishment AND it makes me feel awesome. I feel like I've actually accomplished something when the house is perfect. I don't like it when I need help and he doesn't offer, but he's getting much better with that.

I still have my independence. I run my own business and have an amazing job, have my own friends (very few, but very much trusted and loved friends), my own life that runs parallel to his. We have a great deal of our lives shared but we also have our own interests and we make sure we take time for ourselves too.

Thanks It's all about balance IMO rebec. That's what I think Hubby and I have. Sure we have our bad times and times where I want to just wring his neck... but the great times far outweigh the bad and in the end it's all worth it.

Have we really not moved past the 'get back in the kitchen woman and make me a sandwich' days? I have to ask... why don't you ladies ask the men to cook, shop or feed?
No one in their right mind would want my OH cooking their meals...
