Default I've Lost My Lovely Neighbours

The one set of neighbours we have here that are next door to us at a distance we can see and talk with, have informed us they have bought another home which settles next week. It was all VERY quick, and the sellers agreed to an ultra-fast settlement.

We are sooooooooooo sad. They would honestly be one the best families we have ever lived next to. Just lovely ppl.

But, they will be renting out the property (groan) and are coming back regularly to mow and upkeep etc, so at least we'll get to keep seeing them.

They were organising to sub-divide the block and build a new home on the portion closest to us, but bank wouldn't loan on it because it wasn't an already existing swelling. Bummer.

Don't you just hate it when you find great ppl and then they go? Sigh. Sob. Will REALLY miss them!

mm, i lived my first 18yrs of life at my parents, with two older couples on either side..they were like my grandparents =) they are still there and i still love them. on one side they have a golden lab, oscar, who everymorning slips through the farm fencing and comes and visits our black lab bella. They hang out have a play have a sleep and then he goes home. some times bella visits him but either way if we cant find our dog she is with him or if they cant he is with her =D they love each other

Yep good neighbours can really make a difference.

When we decided to move that was the one thing we worried about, would we get good neighbours like we already had.

So OH went and knocked on their doors, said we were thinking of buying, dropped a hint we had dogs, kids, motor bike asked what they thought of local schools, the street in general. They were not offended. I was a little apprehensive to do it, but OH had no such problem.

It was worth it. They are good neighbours.

Hope you get good new neighbours too.

When my sister and I sold mum's house next door to my sister she was worried too about who would move in. It was bought by a man in Brissy as an investment. (oh hell, any type could move in) It is now lived in by two very young, very quiet people with a young baby and my sister is now concerned about disturbing them, not the other way round, lol.

aww DA, sorry to hear that your losing your beaut neighbours.

I hope your new neighbours are great people too.

My neighbours are nice kind people, but we don't have anything much to do with any of them anyway, we just stick to ourselves.

We hate the "gang member" neighbours across the road from us with a passion, they don't deserve to live such a nice friendly quiet poshy area, wish they would go back to where they came from & with their own "crime gang" folk in Bankstown/Lakemba area. They have a heap of cars all over the street & rubbish & sh*t on their front lawn, honestly their property looks like it was remolded from the slums.. & i sure hope their property don't de-value our area

Hmm, I hope so too, but I'm not holding my breath!

Apparently they are very young and are both on pensions. I hope they don't mean the ruddy dole or something. We've been told they will sleep all day and sit up and watch movies all night. Cool. No probs then.

Can't see much of them anyway, but I did mention that we'll get that side hedge ripped out with a bulldozer and between us all we'll get that whopping great fence up. Hm, now how high can you build a fence, legally?

I'm gonna miss those Border Collies too. They bark, but when they do I KNOW there's someone around. They never bark for nothing!

Sounds like Crime Stoppers needs an anonymous tip about car wrecking shop. Ie remodeling stolen cars.

Anytime I have a problem with a dead car in my area, I just ring council with the licence plate. If it's clearly dead like rego expired, tyres flat, windows busted - then they send the owner a letter asking them to remove it from the street. And I think council rules prohibit car wrecks in the back yard too. If the owner doesn't remove it within a certain time frame, council does.

And yes a house that looks like a slum will devalue yours. That's why councils have rules about car wrecks.
