    Ahah! Something I actually know!

No, don't have a router. Have wireless. It (wireless) was put into the area just before we bought the place, so hasn't been here long.

Nikkie-nikkie nana, I finally know something.

There is hope for you yet, DA, me love. Don't forget we all start at the beginning. My son used to speak very s l o w l y to me when talking computers. I actually had to ask where the on switch was when I first got the laptop. No joke, I couldn't find it. I also looked for the any key.

But tonight I saw an ad for Westnet with some pretty good deals which I will investigate.

Who has it, who is your provider, how much do you pay and what do you think of it? I know nothing about it!
    I'm on Active8 unleashed 5GB shaped, it's 1000mb on peak 4000mb off peak.
i'm paying 50 a month at the moment but it will go up in a few more months.

I think its pretty good, better thn dial up anyway, I can actually watch a youtube without waiting waiting waiting lol. I have had a couple issues with the internet explorer and its diognostics thing, but thats more to do with the crappy borrowed lap top i am relagated to using at the moment.

I like my active8 I am on a expensive plan, but there are cheap ones even when it's shaped it's still way faster than dial up.

I think mine is 3 gigs on peak and 6 off peak. I do agree about the waiting for buffering with videos. Does get slow sometimes though but I would not go back to full time dialup if I had the choice.

Okay, so that's 2 people with Activ8 - I've been looking at them, so having a couple of votes in their favour is good.

Also looking at Bordernet too, they don't include uploads in the allowance.

There are lots of half price deals going on, where you pay half for 6 months, then full price for 6 months.

Think I'll do myself a little spreadsheet so I can compare the plans!

Yeah i compared active8 unleashed, to aussie broadbands SuperCharge, they both looked the same to me. So I just flipped a coin.

I think all satellite companies use the same dishes and routers from ipstar anyway.

I had no choice 3 years ago, activ8 or dial up. Still don't.
