The kids probably would have been happier with a donut tho!

My culinary speciality is making Pizza... Everyone seems to like my Pizzas.. I really don't like the oily pizzas from Pizza Hut and etc.. Takes me a fair while to make a pizza from scratch, but I know whats in it and I make it look good as well.. Some ingredients I use only come from 1 shop and I find myself having to buy from at least 2 supermarket chains to get the right good tasting ingredients.. but it's worth it at the end !

I bought a Pizza Oven that cost $300ish dollars and it was ace at cooking. Trouble is, it burnt out its wiring after 6 months.. Not Happy Jan ! Back to the ol oven again..

    Now I feel very hungry...

Last night we had steak with vegies - sweet potato, carrot, corn and peas.

The kids are pretty good about eating healthy most of the time. I like them to try things but if they really don't like it they don't have to eat it. Mr. 6 hates mushrooms and beans. No point in giving them to him. He loves carrot and peas so has these instead.

"If you don't eat your dinner you will get as skinny as a ......." is a game we play in between mouthfuls sometimes. As skinny as "a worm", "a snake", etc.

Turning meals into fun can help encourage fussy kids to eat. I once fostered 2 little girls aged 4 and 5 who were used to eating takeaway when their parents had cash or weetbix when they didn't. Fruit and vegies were things they had seldom tasted. We gave the food personalities. "Catch those naughty little peas and eat 'em up before they run off the plate" etc. With fruit salad it was a race to see who could find all the bits of mango or whatever first. You're only limited by your own imagination.

I know lots of people say they haven't time to do this sort of thing but if you can establish healthy eating patterns when the kids are small it makes things so much easier when they are older.

If all else fails try using bribes. "No dinner = no XBox". This works really well with my boys.

So what are we having for dinner tonight? Well......there is such a thing as being too healthy......pizza sounds nice and easy. You can come for pizza DR if you bring me some of your pumpkin soup and rye bread.

Mmmm all this talk of food is making my tummy grumble!

Today is going to go so slow - baked dinner tonight. I'm looking forward to it so much! Lamb is already cooking in the slow cooker, with lemon, garlic and rosemary spriggs .... *wipes away drool*
