I did have an outlandish idea

One of those remote collars for Inca with the little tag that sends a signal, only instead of going to a doggie door, install an automatic door that picks up on her signal and opens for her! Still have the fingerprint & keypad part for you and your family to get in and out

Maybe a bit over the top though...

Hubby saw the beer dog yesterday, already has great plans for leo lol. I think leo will just ditch the beer and go for whatever looks yummy in the fridge for himself actually.

God forbid, Leo might prefer the beer himself!

DA, you can use lavender oil as an insect repellent, and lemon oil is also an insect repellant (and is apparently very good for deterring spiders!!).

Just pop a few drops in a spray bottle of water. (From the book "Speed Cleaning")

I am planning on buying those hanging fly sticky paper things and put then outside the back door soon. I had considered buying a dog door, but Leo will just grow too quickly for it :/ (as I suspect so would Inca!)

There is a slot in pet door for sliding doors I have seen online

Im considering making OH build something similar in a larger size.
I use mint, I have some planted at the front door and the back, I have no flies in the house, it does work.

I have found this product http://www.troylab.com.au/petproduct...&iid=19&pid=90 to be very good as I use it on my retired greyhounds. The good thing is the smell of it is okay and had no problems with flies since i started using it about 5 years ago. cheers Dougie
