Thread: I've Decided to Get Surgery

  1. #1

Default I've Decided to Get Surgery

My back is getting worse. I know surgery has it's risks, but this is ridiculous.
I have tried alternative therapies my entire life and it's not getting any better.
If anything it's held off the need for surgery for longer than the average person (most people get the surgery at 16 and I'm..*cough* much older).

My back will look something like this when it's fixed

I'll also be minus a coccyx. The recovery is long and hard apparently, but the family have all said they will help. I'd be in hospital for at least a week (half of that in ICU) and it will be 3-6 months before I can do housework.
I'd need to get around in a wheelchair when I go on long outings to the mall etc

I'm really nervous and also excited. I guess I am posting this to gather a cheer squad I've seen how awesome you all are at that, with Clea and Di and I want some

I sincerely hope it will work for you Pugga. You know what I have been through and still are going through, so I will not mention it again. Just make sure you have done your homework and that your surgeon is a GOOD one

Good luck, I'm sure this isn't a decision you've made lightly, just remember to have truly thought it through and have family and friends on hand.

    Wishing you all the best.

Cleasanta, what happened to you is at the back of my mind constantly, but my quality of life is now suffering anyway, so I am taking the risk.

    Thanks for your support
