I bought a slow cooker today. Wanted one for ages, and they were on special, so grabbed one.

Problem is, um, what do I do with it?
I have chopped up some ptotatoes, carrots, and have some casserole beef cut up into chunks.

So I hcuck all that in..right...what else? Water? Stcok? Gravy?

    Obviously I need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The idea is to prepare in the morning and have it ready at dinner time so you don't have to cook at the end of the day when you're tired.

So, chuck it all in and add a tin of tomatoes, stock and enough water to just cover it all. Put the lid on and do a slow cook for 10 hours.

You can also get slow cooker sachets from the supermarket and you can get slow cooker recipes if you Google. You can cook roasts and all sorts of stuff in it

I don't eat meat, but I cook it for the kids and they tell me it's nice and soft when I cook it in the slow cooker.

    What Pugger justsaid.

You can do all types of things in a slow cooker, ourd inner tonight is spag bog cooked in it.The flavours are num num...

Its really upto you and your family tastes,we like slightly sweet, spicey types of stews so I use some sweet chilli sauce and BBQ sauce as well as stock or seasoning.

In no time you'll wonder why it took you so long to get one

    10 hours!

Oh **** - I just put it on at four thinking it would be ready at 6. So, that's not gonna happen? I need to pour it all into a casserole dish and put it on the stove to cook now.
    Aw man...

i just got one for xmas but dont realy know how to use it either, but they have those packets at the supermarket for like $1.50, its just a herbs mix, but it has the ingredients on the back with a recipe. BIG help!

And you can make a meal on the weekend and then freeze it to use on weeknights

    Shut up!

I'm lost. What's the point of using electricity to run this slow cooker thing for 10 hours when I could just chuck it on the stove for a couple of hours.

I'm one of those ppl if I go out, well, I won't leave anything cooking. Aw hell, why did i buy it if I have no idea how to use it.

Really? Mine has three settings. High, low and auto, which according to the instruction mnaual is a mix of high and low. Nothing in the manual or on the box tells me how long I need to cook it though.

    What a dill DA!!!!!!!!!!!
