Thread: I'm in Mourning

    Default I'm in Mourning

As of tomorrow I will no long have dairy in my diet.

I am mourning the loss of cheese and ice-cream

Dear cheese, you tasted so good and filled me up when I was uber hungry, and made my rye toast and sandwiches gourmet. You added flavour to my omletts and turned my salads into a meal.
I will miss you so much

And to my dearest friend ice-cream, you were always there to cheer me up when I was down. You cooled me down on hot days and soothed my throat when it was sore. You have always been there for me through thick and creamy and I will miss you from the bottom of my gut.

    Bye my dear friends *sniff*

    RIP diary!
I feel for you puggerup. I gave up cheese and ice-cream for over 12 months as well as potatoes, white rice and any flour product! It did me good, lost 43 kgs!
Not easy doing it puggerup, try not to morn the passing too much!

Oh Bohemiannic you must be STARVING

what is there left to eat? Lettuce?

I'm vegetarian also, and am trying to lo carb. My gall bladder and pancreas aren't tolerating dairy and it's either quit or be dead in 6 months.
I am also on Reductil for my fat arse and haven't lost a bloody thing in 2 months.. pretty sure cheese and ice-cream are the culprits

I used to be vegetarian, but had to go back to meat due to osteoporosis. I was living on muesli and yogurt in the morning, tuna at lunch with a bit of greens, a piece of fruit in the afternoon and nuts and then veg and a small piece of meat for dinner. Also about 1 hour exercise a day, 6 days a week. Come May, I have kept it off for a year. I have gone back to eating most things, but am careful on quantity.

I didn't realise meat helped with osteoporosis.. I thought that was calcium that helped that?

Great stuff losing all that wait though I don't have the motivation like you. I lost 20kg's after nearly 2 years dieting and exercising and then it started stacking on for no reason, so I gave up the gym and walks and took up the ice-cream and cheese. I have gained back 10kg's.

I don't think I could live without dairy either, and I find soy a pretty poor substitute.

Though some icecream confection - doesn't have much dairy in it. You might have to make do with "Sorbet" if you can cope with egg white. Not sure what soy icecream would be like - I don't want to think about it.

I think if I went non-dairy - I'd be looking at a japanese food based diet - without the tofu. Love sushi, maki, nori and rice and terriaki stuff. I've had soy bean icecream - which was realy nice but I'm fairly sure it contained cream and eggs too.

Oh dear Pugger, good luck with it all. I should do the same but at the moment no will power at all, same with the smokes. I keep telling myself I will one day --
