    Default When I Was Young...

A little game - what funny/silly things did you think, say or do when you were young?

When I was young... I used to think 'no through road' meant you couldn't drive up the street unless you live there.

When I was young my favorite saying was "Liza e koooda, Liza amotata" Which was a lispy pay of saying in Russian: "Liza isn't a troublemaker, Liza's a heeelper!" It doesn't sound as adorable translated

When I was young I used to try and hold my breath when we travelled over bridges in case the bridge fell down.

But then I was very young when the bridge in Tas was clipped by a boat and came down. We were about 1/2km from the bridge when it happened (on holidays) and it was all over the news for days.

I don't remember a lot from when I was young, I think I have blocked it all out.

My kids on the other hand if they were on this forum for this question would have lots..mostly because I am a cow and did a lot of things along the lines of that add when the kid asked dad why was the great wall of China built and he said ..to keep the rabbits out.

Can't wait to start on the grandies.

When I was young.....mum was moving furniture up the stairs of our old house and had me, aged 2, with her. mum said "come on you can help you're a strong girl" and I replied "I can't" when asked "why?" my answer was "I have to grow muscles first."

Also some funny stories about my little cousin when she was younger. She could never saw piglet so she would say Pligit and cordial was pronounced cor-di-dagle. When she was 2, I got my maltese, Audrey but she always called her Orgie and one day she told a complete stranger that "She loved orgies!" the woman was horrified. Needless to say Audrey quickly bacame Georgie.

On the night of my uncles birthday, my grandma(his mum) leant down and said, 'how does it feel to be a six-year-old boy?'
    He replied with 'im not'
Grandma then exclaimed 'Yes you are, you're a six year old boy!'
And on the brink of tears, uncle Alex wept 'But im not, im not a sexy ol' boy'

I used to think I was super strong because I could lift a brick, and I wanted to show my dad when he came to pick me up after work, so I thought 'I'll put the brick down now so I can save my muscles for later'. lol
