I beg to differ .... BIG TIME.

My biz was severely compromised when a member threw a tantee, had a hissy fit because I wouldn't "comply" to their wishes, ran whining to the mod & had a thread about my treats moved from General to a place so obscure, people couldn't find it any more. I wasn't contacted at all by the mod prior to the thread being moved. I was notified afterwards, with no reasonable explanation given for the move. I scanned General when this happened & noticed other threads of a "biz" content were not moved along with mine.

I've just finished having a "heated discussion" with this Mod in which he became very aggressive telling me what he would do to me if I continued to "target & abuse" people, even off the confines of the forum ... where he has no jurisdiction BTW.

When the thread got moved, I found this forum, checked "protocol" with Morgan before I started posting & haven't looked back.

I like DOL and here. They are very different IMO though. Here is more social, mostly because there are fewer active members I suppose. That has it's drawbacks aswell though as I think people form opinions about you, on here, and that can cloud their responses to you. On DOL I'm not a 'regular' so I am more anonymous on there.

I have found DOL very helpful when I've posted questions, especially if the query is a bit more specialised. (Jenna's juvenile pubic symphysiodesis proceedure for instance). Also I think with DOL you know where you stand with regard to crossbreeds. You are welcome if you have a crossbreed but you are not allowed to promote them in any way and definitely do not use any of the spoodle, pugalier type names. BIG no no, but it does say this in their forum rules so that's fair enough. It can be confusing on here for new members, as it doesn't say anything in the rules about not promoting crosses or using the DD names but people have been blasted for doing so.

It did make laugh a while back though as I posted on DOL and deliberately used the term 'Samriever' in the title. I apologised for using the term in my sub title and explained the reason I had done it was so the thread would be picked up by anyone who googled the term. I was trying to prevent people from buying from the same place we got Jenna. I was trying to do the right thing but still someone got on my case about using the term Samriever. It was only one person though, who probably didn't even read my actual post. I am pleased to say that I have had people contact me, thanks to my post and I have managed to talk them out of getting a "Samriever"

Yes, there is bitching that goes on on DOL but, generally I think it is big enough to avoid most of it. I would give it a big +

A word of warning, If you are a member there and also a member posting here with the same sign in and you slag off that forum, you may find yourself banned from there.

Even if it isn't you lol, say someone with a nic called blob here, slags it off, and a member called blob unrelated to you posts there. That blob could get banned.

It happened to around 5 people I know of. The admin was sent a link to a thread on a forum with no ties what so ever to Dol and nicknames were noted and banned.

That's awful GSD. Unfortunately maybe it's the 'nepotism' Occy was talking about at work.

It sure was a shock when it happened, that's for sure. I never saw it coming & I certainly didn't think I was doing anything wrong. Someone other than me started the thread, someone else told me a thread about my treats had been started & to go & check it out, I replied & it just went from there.

I've got a paid banner ad now & I rarely post any more. The mod is happy to deal with me on a business basis as I sorted that side of things out with him. He's happy because he gets a monthly fee from me & I'm "legal" now.

Why would you want to stay at a forum you hate so much you slag off elsewhere? I'd probably ban them too.. but no-way would I go searching for these people.. who has time or energy for that stuff? and the lap dogs who show Admin the threads... get a life sheesh.
