Pugger I would have done the same as you. Our cat Heman, came to us in similar circumstances. He showed up at our door, tiny, skinny and flea-ridden, he wouldn't have been older than 5 weeks. Flyers, door-knocking, newspaper, no-one claimed him. We didn't want to take him to the pound as he would have been dead in a week (not exaggerating). Oh and he was very, very friendly and picked up house-training very quickly. Which makes us think that he and his possible litter-mates were dumped. If there was an owner they didn't make any effort to find him, anyway. He's now a 7kg ball of fluff and love.

She comes up to us and climbs up our tops and head butts up and kisses us and buries her head under our chins.\

When we found Chloe she had been thrown from a car, it was late afternoon the pound was closed, no animal shelter or rescue existed here back then. The next morning we rang the pound, they were full, and because we had seen her tossed out of the car but hadn't gotten a rego number or anything to help track the person down they wouldn't bother trying to track them down. Because Chloe was in need of vet care it would have been her death sentence taking her to the pound even though we stated we wanted to keep her. No I would not take any animal here to our pound, quite happy to do what Pugger has done to try and find rightful owners.

OMG poor Chloe some people are just sicko's.
I think Precious was dumped out with someones rubbish. She was found in a dumping area at the end of a court and start of a reserve.. it's hard to explain.. but heaps of people dump their rubbish there and there's signs saying not to it's so bad.
Either she was searching for food and lived in that street or some maniac couldn't see what an amazing little creature she is and threw her away

Pugger, I truly believe rescues "know" and are genuinely grateful - except for my Noah, he is just a blind toad git who has no gratitude for anyone- beast lol
