Default Thought Id Let People Know

    Hi Guys,

Not sure if im allowed to post this or not really but if not im fine with it being removed

I thought id let everyone know about a service we offer, althought not for a our canine pals i know a few member on the forum are interested in our feathered friends. We run a sanctuary for unwanted birds in Perth, WA. I have posted a bit of info below that we send out to vets/people etc.

If anyone was interested our website is featherfloweraviaries.webs.com

Here at Feather Flower Aviaries we run a bird sanctuary for unwanted, neglected and abused birds that have been passed from home to home and have no where to go.

This year we have received an influx of birds because their owners no longer want them or arent able to care for them any more.

Whether it is a cockateil or a cockatoo we can find a place in our hearts and aviaries for them here and when they are once again happy and healthy we run people that are interested in adopting a bird through a very rigourous adoption program.

The program allows monthly inspections and a contract entailing that they are not to sell the bird and that they are to have it vet checked regularly is signed. We strive to give the birds we have rehabilitated a forever home where they will live out the rest of their lives in happiness. If we feel a bird cannot be succesfully rehomed it will stay with us.

If you know of anyone who has a bird they can no longer care for, or someone who just isnt bothered looking after their bird, please alert them to our services so we are able to bring that bird to a place where it will be loved and cherised no matter what its habits are or how much noise it makes or even how hard it bites!

We are a not for profit shelter and do not gain any monetary value from the birds we rehome. We rely soley on donations. We are happy to travel to pick up birds no matter what the distance.

Good on you, you hear so much about dog and cat rescue but not much for the smaller animals. I hope that your post not only helps a bird find it's way to you but also perhaps helps a bird find it's new home.

Oh that's so wonderful, I don't think anyone will have a problem with you posting this, it's always good to know about the various rescue orgs out there.

I am a huge bird lover, but with 3 inside cats, it just would not be fair to get a bird, No way am i getting one and leaving it locked in a cage all the time!

That's awesome. There's not enough help out there for feathered folks.

    Good on you!

If I hear of any birds needing a home I'll recommend you guys

ETA - Just had a look at your website. You guys obviously care tremendously about birds I didn't even know you could get tame red, white & yellow tailed black cockatoos!

    Thanks Guys!!

Terror Bull feel free to link us on your website thats fine, we need more people to realise we are around!

Loren, the black cockatoo species all make realy good pets, they are so docile and intelligent. We find even our parent raised babies tame down really fast just from interaction in the aviaries!

Unfortunatley there really isnt enough help out there for our feathered buddies as the focus is mainly on cats and dogs so we do need a few more people out there to help!
